St. Christopher Parish Census Form

St. Christopher Parish is developing enhanced paper and digital communication capabilities. You can help us by providing us

with your information. Go to St. Christopher’s website and use the link that can be found under the resources tab to set up your personal user name and password to the database.

CHURCH OFFERINGS

We are now offering online giving for your convenience and safety especially during this period when gathering for

MAKE A GIFT TO HELP YOUR CHURCH

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS

AUGUST FAMILY OF THE MONTH

Tommy and Terry Canale

Tommy and Terry regularly attend daily Mass and the Adoration Chapel and are Eucharistic ministers, both in church and for the homebound. They were very involved in purchasing the "Jesus of Health” statue found in the alcove of our church where the choir sings, and they organized the St. Joseph Triduum for several years for our parish. They assist in sanitizing our church and are also very active in the Charismatic Movement in the New Orleans area and do speaking engagements. The Canales are another great example of a family that is willing to assist with their talents when and wherever they are needed. We are so grateful for the Canales' tireless commitment to serving God within our parish and thank them for sharing their love and faith. May God richly bless them!

Seventeenth Sunday in Ordinary Time Page 5

You are welcome to join us in ministering to the needs of our church and the greater community. If you are interested in receiving information regarding

any ministry or organization in the parish, please contact Deacon Phil McManamon at 451-0009 or [email protected] or respond via the "Contact Us" form under Resources, indicating your preference or wishes in the "Comments" section. We appreciate you!

KNIGHT OF THE YEAR

The Knight of the Year was presented to Charles Melancon. Brother Charles has been a rock throughout Covid-19 not only for 4508 Council but also for the entire St. Christopher the Martyr Parish. He has broadcasted the Stations of the Cross via Facebook, all of the Holy Week Masses, led a phone call tree to check on every brother in the Council bi-weekly and he continues today to live stream the 4pm Mass at church as well as live streams and leads the 7PM Friday night Council Rosary.

The Knights of Columbus held its installation of officers on Thursday, July 16th. Congratulations to the 2020 Officers!

ST. CHRISTOPHER OUTREACH

HELP LINE

Now that the church is open again, we welcome food donations, which may be placed in the foyer of the church or

brought to the rectory. Many people are requesting assistance. We are in need of items such as cereal, grits and oatmeal, and cans of fruit, beans, soup, tomato sauce, and Chef Boyardee. We also need ramen noodles, rice, and pasta mixes, macaroni and cheese, spaghetti and pasta. For this month, we have an adequate supply of peanut butter and jelly, dried beans, and canned vegetables. The boxes we give out are 12” x 12” x 18”, so we are limited to regular-size items, not large, and we do not have the space to handle cold products. Please help us by checking “current best-by” dates. If you are in need of assistance, call 504-831-7692 and leave a message. We will return your call. We thank you on behalf of our parishioners who are in need. We will help as many as our food and finances will permit us. May God bless all of you and keep all of us healthy.

HOLY BAPTISM PREPARATION

If you have a child who will be Baptized, please contact the rectory.

You must attend the Baptismal Seminar in order for your child to be Baptized.
