• The Chicago native stands 13th in the Atlantic 10 in rebounding (7.2 rpg) and ninth in field goal percentage (46.4 percent).

• Her 81 career blocks rank fourth all-time in program history. She is two away from third (Donna Diota - 83 from 1979-83).

in 2016-17, including her first two double-doubles and two 20-point games. She also has four double-digit rebounding games. Jan. 19 at UMass, she had a career high four steals and matched her best of four blocks Feb. 7 vs. La Salle.

St. Bonaventure is fourth in the A-10 in field goal percentage defense (36.0 percent) and third in three-point percentage defense (28.7 percent).

BONA VS. GEORGE WASHINGTON - HISTORYGeorge Washington has owned the all-time series, holding a 34-7 advantage in the previous 41 meetings between the programs. GW won 32 of the first 33 games between 1987 and 2007. The Bonnies have had better luck in recent years, though, winning five of the last seven games, including a thriller last year in overtime. Winning at GW has been another matter, though, as the Colonials have taken 17 of 18 meetings all-time on their home court. Bona’s only win in the na-tion’s capital came on Jan. 15, 2011 in a 72-48 triumph.

LAST MEETINGIn a season with many outstanding moments, the St. Bonaventure women’s basketball team had one of its finest hours of the year by earning a 69-67 overtime victory over then-Atlantic 10 leader George Washington on Feb. 17, 2016 at the Reilly Center. Katie Healy was tremendous, posting a game-high 24 points along with five rebounds and three blocks while sophomore Mariah Ruff tallied 18 points - 12 in the second half and overtime. St. Bonaventure had to storm back from a 17-point second half deficit to earn the win, also using 18 points and six rebounds from Mariah Ruff.

UPS AND DOWNS OF FRESHMAN YEARBonnies freshman starters Jalisha Terry and Sarah Hart have shown that the foundation is in place for this young Bonnies team to have success going forward with many glimpses of their talent. Like most freshmen (and young teams), though, the results can vary game-by-game. A breakdown of their non-conference play stats: -In five Bonnies wins:• Terry averaged 10.8 ppg, shot 50.0

percent from the floor and has committed just seven turnovers. Hart, meanwhile, averaged 6.4 ppg, 7.2 rebounds and shot 56.5 percent from the field.

-In seven Bonnies losses:• Terry averaged 5.7 ppg, shot 26.4 percent

and committed 22 turnovers. Hart, on the other hand, averaged 3.9 points, 4.0 rebounds and shot 26.6 percent in those setbacks.

RUFF LEADS THE WAY- Bona returns one starter from last year’s NCAA Tournament team, junior guard Mariah Ruff.- Ruff started all 32 games a season ago, averaging 10.0 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists.- She had four or more assists in 22 games a year ago and ranked sixth in the Atlantic 10 in assist-to-turnover ratio. - Ruff earned a spot on the Atlantic 10 All-Preseason Third Team and is also on the Big 4 Preseason First Team.- The 2014 Miss New York Basketball and one of Crowley’s most prized recruits during his tenure, Ruff was at her best in A-10 play last year, averaging 11.8 points per game.

NEW YEAR, NEW FACES-- The Bonnies welcomed back head coach Jesse Fleming in May. No stranger to the program, Fleming was on the staff of former head coach Jim Crowley from 2005-2011 and prior to that was a team manager from 2001-04, graduating in 2005. It will be Fleming’s first season with the program since 2011, however, as he spent the 2011-12 season on staff at Stony Brook and 2012-16 with Bowling Green. He replaces longtime head coach Jim Crowley who was at the helm for the past 16 seasons.- Assistant coaches Jeff Clapacs and Jennifer Pruett as well as director of basketball operations Alysha Giarra all join the Bona staff for the first time, joining the longest actively tenured member of the staff, Andrea Mulcahy who is in her fifth season on the bench for Bona.- Bona also brings in six new players - five freshmen (Danielle Migliore, Jalisha Terry, Rhianna Council, Sarah Hart and Sarah Young) and junior transfer C’quoya Haughton who will sit out this year due to NCAA transfer rules.

DEFENSE A BONNIES CALLING CARD- The Bonnies ranked second in the Atlantic 10 and 28th in the nation in scoring defense, allowing 55.9 points per game last season. Bona also led the A-10 and stood 15th in the country while limiting opponents to 35.0 percent shooting from the field. - Defense has long been a calling card of teams coached by Jesse Fleming as well. During his last season on staff at Bona (2010-11), the Bonnies ranked 27th in the nation in scoring defense allowing just over 55 points per game while holding opponents under 45 points six times on the way to a run in the WNIT. - During his time at Bowling Green, Fleming’s team set the BGSU scoring defense program record while surrendering just 51.9 points per game in Mid-American Conference play.- Since 2007-08, the Bonnies have not given up over 62 points per game on average in any season:

IN THE POLLS- St. Bonaventure was selected to finish 10th in this year’s preseason Atlantic 10 Coaches Poll- Bona will look to do what it did last season when it proved the polls wrong: SBU was picked ninth a season ago, but finished fourth with a 12-4 conference record and just a game out of the top spot.

HISTORY LESSONThis year marks two important anniversaries - the 50th anniversary of the Reilly Center, and the 30th anniversary of the Bonnies women’s basketball program playing at the Division I level. The Bonnies are 432-472 overall since turning D-I for the 1986-87 season (.482), but are 213-133 (.623) over the past 10 seasons.

ROSTER BREAKDOWNThe Bonnies boast players from eight different states on the 2016-17 roster:New York - 5 (Ruff, Migliore, Maycock, Young, Haughton)Florida - 1 (Britvar)Illinois - 1 (Richmond)Michigan - 1 (Terry)Minnesota - 1 (Hart)North Carolina - 1 (Council)Ohio - 1 (Outlaw)Virginia - 1 (Fresh)

CREAM OF THE CROPSince 2008-09, when the Bonnies made their first-ever postseason appearance, St. Bonaventure has an overall record of 171-90 and 72-46 in the Atlantic 10 (entering 2016-17). During that time only two A-10 programs have produced better records – Dayton and Duquesne.

BUILDING AN ATLANTIC 10 POWER- Bona has become an Atlantic 10 and indeed a national power in the last decade, and the fingerprints of new head coach Jesse Fleming are firmly on the foundation of the program: while previously on staff, the Bonnies were the only program in the nation to decrease their loss total every season from 2005-10.- Many of the program’s top players were recruited and developed by Fleming, including No. 2 all-time scorer Dana Mitchell.- Fleming also was key to the development of 1,000-point scorers Megan Van Tatenhove, Jessica Jenkins and Katelyn Murray.- The Bonnies totaled three straight 20-win seasons with Fleming on staff from 2008-09 through 2010-11 including the program’s first-ever WNIT appearance, a run to the quarterfinals in 2009.- At Bowling Green, Fleming helped the Falcons to an overall record of 73-55 including a 5-2 mark in the WNIT with an Elite Eight appearance in 2014 and a national Top 25 ranking.

BONNIES COACHING STAFF AMONG NATION’S YOUNGEST- St. Bonaventure owns the eighth-youngest coaching staff in Division I this season- The Bonnies’ combined staff age is 122 - Jesse Fleming: 33, Jeff Clapacs: 31, Jennifer Pruett: 30, Andrea Mulcahy: 28- The only younger staffs in Division I are: McNeese State (109 combined age), Columbia, FIU (115), Northern Kentucky (118), Brown (119), Loyola Chicago (119) and Houston Baptist (120).- Fleming is the nation’s sixth-youngest Division I women’s basketball head coach at 33 years old, turning 34 in March. The only younger head coaches: Kate Achter of Loyola Chicago (30, former St. Bonaventure assistant with Fleming); Kacie Cryer of McNeese State (30); Tiara Malcolm of FIU (32), DeUnna Hendrix of High Point (32), Marquette’s Carolyn Kieger (33, turning 34 in August).

Part of the Bonnies success in recent seasons has been their dominance at the Reilly Center. Since the 2007-08 season, the Bonnies are 106-32 (.768) at home. Below are the Bonnies’ records at home since the 2007-08 campaign:

RECORD-SETTING CAMPAIGN- St. Bonaventure’s 2015-16 season won’t soon be forgotten as the Bonnies turned in one of the best years in program history. Among the highlights:- The team made its second-ever NCAA Tournament appearance, reaching the Round of 32 after knocking off Oklahoma State in the first round, 65-54. The run came to an end in the second round with a 69-40 loss to eventual Final Four entrant Oregon State on the Beavers’ home floor.- The Bonnies ranked 28th in the nation in scoring defense (55.9 ppg) and 15th in field goal percentage defense (35.0%).- Bona’s .750 winning percentage is second only to the 2011-12 team (.886).- The 12 Atlantic 10 victories are second-most behind only the 14 secured by the 2011-12 squad.- Bona set its all-time record for blocks in a season (135)- The team shot .762 from the line, fourth-best in program history.- The team’s 459 assists also rank third in history.

BONNIES FINDING INTERNATIONAL SUCCESSA pair of Bonnies alums are finding success playing professionally across the pond. Katie Healy ‘16 is playing in Greece after finishing one of the finest careers in program history last spring. She has starred for Panionios, continuing her roll as of late - through 12 games, she’s averaged 17.7 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists, leading the team in all three categories.

Elsewhere, Stef Collins ‘06 continues a tremendous professional career in Great Britain. The former GB Olympic team member is again on Great Britain’s national team, playing in the Euro Basket 2017 qualification rounds.

ADDING TO THE BANNER COLLECTION- This year’s home opener was a special day in Bonnies women’s basketball history as the program unveiled the 2016 NCAA Tournament banner. It was the program’s sixth banner in the last eight years - four WNIT and two NCAA.

INSIDE THE 2016-17 SCHEDULE - The Bonnies will play five games against teams that reached the national post-season last year during non-conference play (Albany and Bufflalo, NCAA; Bucknell, Eastern Michigan, WNIT; Stony Brook, WBI).- Bona will play 12 non-conference games - five at home, five in true road games and a pair of games on neutral courts vs. Austin Peay and Rider at the UCF Thanksgiving Classic in Orlando Nov. 26-27.- The Atlantic 10 schedule gets an early start this year as conference play begins before the new year with a home date vs. Rhode Island on Dec. 28 as well as a road date on New Year’s Eve afternoon at George Mason.- Bona gets Rhode Island, Dayton, Davidson, La Salle and VCU at home while traveling to Mason, Richmond, UMass, Saint Joseph’s and George Washington. SBU faces Saint Louis, Fordham and Duquesne in home-and-home series.

BONNIES ADD TWO IN EARLY SIGNING PERIOD- Head coach Jesse Fleming announced the addition of two student-athletes to National Letters of Intent during the early signing period:- Emily Calabrese, a 5-11 forward from Wyckoff, N.J., has posted 800 points and 800 rebounds with nearly 30 double-doubles.- Jamyra McChristine, a 6-0 forward from Chicago, Ill. who has averaged 16 points, 15 rebounds and six assists per game.

STARTING FIVE- St. Bonaventure will have very different looking starting lineups to begin this season, regardless on the five players who get the call on a nightly basis. Just two players on the active roster have ever started prior to this season: Entering the year, junior guard Mariah Ruff had started 52 games (all consecutively) while graduate forward Gabby Richmond had started 51 career games (23 as a redshirt freshman, 22 as a redshirt sophomore and six last year).

ATLANTIC 10 FORMAT- The Atlantic 10 Conference consists of 14 member schools.- A-10 squads face each member once and three schools battle each other twice as part of a 16-game conference schedule.- St. Bonaventure’s home-and-home opponents are Duquesne, Fordham and Saint Louis.- The 2017 Atlantic 10 Women’s Basketball Championship has a new format this season. New this year, the top two league finishers earn byes to the quarterfinal round while seeds three through eight will each host one of six first round games on campus sites Feb. 25 or Feb. 26. The quarterfinals, semifinals and championship will all be held at the Richmond Coliseum March 3 - 5.

BONNIES LAST TIME OUT Too much size and the scoring efforts of reigning Atlantic 10 Player of the Year Jackie Kemph led to a 74-58 victory for Saint Louis over the St. Bonaventure women’s basketball team Saturday afternoon at the Reilly Center.

The Billikens, who boast eight players of 6’0” or taller, including six who are 6’2” or over, used their size advantage to the tune of 50 points in the paint. In the backcourt, Kemph excelled with 20 points, eight assists and three steals.

For the Bonnies (9-16, 4-9 Atlantic 10), Gabby Richmond tallied her sixth double-double of the year and was just two points off a career high by finishing with 20 points and 11 rebounds. The graduate student went 8-of-14 from the floor in 31 minutes of action.

Mariah Ruff turned in another strong effort as well, finding double-figure scoring for the 20th time this year by notching 18 points along with five rebounds.

St. Bonaventure scored the first points of the game on a layup from Richmond and used an impressive first quarter of 10 points from Ruff, but the Billikens employed a pair of runs to seize control. The visitors embarked on runs of 7-0 and 8-2 while going red hot from the floor, sinking 12 of 16 field goal attempts during the opening 10 minutes.
