The Blessing of the Animals & Pet WashSunday, October 6Pet Wash, 2 p.m. | Blessing, 3 p.m.In celebration of the feast of St. Francis, bring your furry (and not-so-furry) friends to church on Sunday, October 6 at 3 p.m. for the Blessing of the Animals. All creatures of our God and King are welcome. The youth ministry will host a pet-wash fundraiser at 2 p.m. behind the church near the shed. The Blessing will be outside in the garden, weather permitting.

Nashville Food Project Third TuesdaysEvery third Tuesday of the month, St. B’s volunteers deliver a meal made by

The Nashville Food Project for the congregation of Trinity UMC. About 40 people gather to pray, eat, and often enjoy live music together. Some live in the neighborhood. Others are experiencing homelessness. Four to five volunteers are needed each month to serve the food, chat with guests, and start the cleanup process. We meet before 5 p.m. at The Nashville Food Project on California Avenue, load food into an NFP truck, carpool together, and are back by 7:15 p.m. We especially could use another volunteer with experience driving an extended-cab pickup with limited sight-lines. For more information, go to shorturl.at/hDKMS or email Ruth at [email protected].

Theology on Tap BeginsMonday, October 7, 7 p.m. Gray Matters StudioOriginally created for younger adults, Theology on Tap invites people of all ages to connection,

conversation, drinks, and theology in a casual atmosphere. Join us for our inaugural meeting on Monday, October 7, at Gray Matters Studio (2301 Bransford Ave). Drinks and conversation at 7 p.m. The presentation begins at 7:30 p.m.

Our first topic is “The Illusion of Autobiography" -- a lecture by St. B's Zac Settle. We will think with Augustine and his Confessions on the nature of autobiography, the incomprehensibility of our own lives, and the theological (and existential) payoffs of confronting the absurdities of our life narratives. Email Zac for more info at [email protected].
