Online VIRTUS © Training Options In light of the current health concerns, the most prudent and preventative measure we can take is to make the VIR-TUS© Protecting God's Children training available Online as an option. (www.magnificat.com/free)

Act of Spiritual Communion There is a beautiful tradition of making an Act of Spiritual Communion. Below is an example:

My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

Invitation to Families, Send the Diocese your videos The doors to the parish buildings may be closed, but the Church is alive and well in our diocese! We would like to invite you to share with us how your family is being the 'Domestic Church'. Send us a short video clip (no more than 60 seconds) of your family praying together, reading Bible stories, your family attend-ing Mass online, engaging in Holy week or Easter season activities at home, or any acts of mercy or service you are doing from home to help others during this time. Be creative, prayerful, and have fun. Some video clips will be shared on our diocesan Face-book page and/or website. Instructions for making your video: 1. Use a cellphone or tablet to film. 2. Start by introducing your family, the name of your Parish and the city your parish is in. 3. Then begin filming your time of prayer or other activity. 4. Be sure to make your video in a well lit area. 5. Also be certain to film in a quiet area without a lot of extra background noise and speak loud enough for others to hear. 6. Keep it short. Please limit filming to no more than 1 minute. (Your family prayer time/activity may go longer, but please only submit an edited/shortened video to share.) 7. Send the video clip to [email protected] 8. Please be aware that by submitting a video, you are giving permission to use that video on the Face-book page operated by the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau and/or the diocesan web page. Video clips will be accepted April 1 through April 30. We look forward to sharing them with others across the diocese. If you have questions, please contact Lynn Melendez - lmelen-dez@dioscg,org (417)866-0841 ext. 1135.
