The Missionaries of the Precious Blood On August 15, 2015, the Missionaries of the Precious Blood (C.PP.S.) will celebrate the 200th anniversary of their founding. Their members minister in our St. Augustine parish. This year, we will join in their celebration by sharing their story and

learning about their spirituality and mission. ***************************************************************************

The first Missionaries of the Precious Blood (who celebrate 200 years as a religious congregation in 2015) arrived in the United States late in December 1843, in New Orleans. They traveled up the Mississippi River to the Ohio River to Wellsville, Ohio, then traveled by wagon to Norwalk, in north central Ohio. In Norwalk, the wagon driver abandoned them and they had to walk the final

three miles to their final destination of Peru, Ohio, in January 1844. They walked by night, in the rain, over a muddy road. Cold, wet and muddy, they arrived at their first ministry site in the United States. Do we let roadblocks stop us from getting to our

spiritual destiny?

our future priests in the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana. Will you help support our seminarians? Please look at today’s bulletin insert, and use

the envelope provided for your gift. St. Augustine’s goal for the campaign is
