UNDERSTANDING THE HOLY EUCHARIST – A six-
session program at St. Anthony’s. With Burning
Hearts seeks a fuller understanding of Eucharist
through the story of the disciples on their way to
Emmaus from Jerusalem. Henri Nouwen shows us how
the Eucharistic event is intensely human, revealing the
deepest human experience: sadness and loss,
attentiveness and invitation, intimacy and engagement.
Along this five-step journey, the disciples travel, grow
and learn, from mourning to discernment, from invitation
to intimacy, and finally from community to the charge to
go forth and witness. With Burning Hearts calls us to
experience all of this journey, to know what we
celebrate and what we are called to live are one and the
same. The sessions will be led by Sr. Terry Smith FcJ.
Further details will be available soon.

SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION: Monday - Wednesday 1/2 hour prior to Mass Thursday, Friday 1 hour prior to Mass Saturday 1/2 hour prior to Mass
FR. JACK’S CHUCKLE A man offered to pay a sum of money to his twelve-year old daughter if she mowed the lawn. The girl went at the task with great zest and by evening the whole lawn had been beautifully mowed – well except a large uncut patch of grass in one corner. When the man said he couldn’t pay the sum agreed upon because the whole lawn hadn’t been mowed, the girl said she was read to forgo the money, but would not cut the grass in the patch. Curious to find out why, he checked the uncut patch. There, right in the center of the patch, sat a large toad. The girl had been too tenderhearted to run over it with the lawn mower.
