STEWARDSHIP SECONDS - October 30/16 THANK YOU to the many members who have submitted their 2017 Commitment Cards. If you have misplaced the Stewardship Information Package that was mailed to your home address, or if you did not receive a package, you may pick up a package today at the Welcome Desk, or stop by the church office during the week to pick up a package. We encourage you to mail or hand in your cards on the offering plate or to the church office over the next two weeks (by Sunday, November 13). For 2017 budget planning purposes, if we do not receive a card from you, our assumption will be that your givings will be maintained at the same level as in 2016. Update: Envelope, PAR, and member donations to September 30 - $116,720. This represents 66% of the 2016 budget target of $178,000. While January to September represents 75% of the year, our average revenue for this period is 68% of the projected total, so we are slightly behind historical giving levels thus far. (October through December are traditionally the months in which we receive the most donations, from our members and other supporters.) Please consider an extra one-time offering this fall to help us "catch up." We thank you for your ongoing generous support of the work of St. Andrew's United Church, and the wider church both nationally and globally. We are collectively making a positive difference in many people's lives, thanks to your gifts of time, talent and money. Reaching Out Advent Project Our Reaching Out team is collecting gently used backpacks for an Advent project. During Advent, we will be inviting you to help fill up these

backpacks with toiletries and small food items for people who live on the street.

Please bring your extra backpacks to the church office. (Plan B: If you don’t have a

backpack, you might consider picking one up at the Jarrett Centre or Value Village.)

Why give another sweater to someone you love this Christmas? This year, give a gift that matters. Gifts with Vision catalogues are available and include a wide variety of sustainable gift-giving ideas. A gift of $10 provides art canvases for the River Bend Community Ministry to Saskatoon’s marginalized. A gift of $30 provides a warm winter kit (hat, scarf, jacket and mitts) to refugees in Syria and Iraq. Many more ideas are included in the catalogue. Catalogues are available at the greeter’s area or from the church office. You may also go to www.giftswithvision.ca to view the catalogue and make purchases on-line.
