ST. AMELIA SCHOOL
19 55 NEWSLETTER
INSPIRING EXCELLENCE EVERY DAY Volume 25, Issue 7 March, 2020 ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK:
Dear Parents:
“Do not judge from his appearance or from his lofty stature,
because I have rejected him. Not as man sees does God see,
because man sees the appearance but the Lord looks into the heart. (1 Samuel 16:7)
You only get one chance to make a first impression. This common phrase has been used for a
long time. Studies have even shown that this first impression only takes three seconds to form.
Unfortunately, it has become very commonplace throughout our society to judge without looking past the
exterior. Some of the best stories of all time were hidden behind the most unlikely cover. Christ does not
care if we are rich or poor, black or white or different from each other in any other way. I am challenging
each of us this month to see Jesus in each other and make a conscious attempt to promote acceptance and
diversity among our fellow brothers and sisters as proof that we are responding to this invitation.
As we continue our school-wide focus on strengthening our school community and learning more
about what makes each of us different and special, we will be reciting the Disciples Prayer for Tolerance
at the end of each school day before leaving the building for the day. I have attached it below so that you
may use it to reinforce the life lesson of tolerance at home by praying and talking as a family about how
you can further promote tolerance in your daily lives.
May God continue to bless you and send the Holy Spirit down upon each of us so that we may be
the catalysts for a renewed sense of community within our school, parish and beyond.
Thank you for the blessing of your support as we continue this educational journey together.
May God Bless You,
Mr. Scott C. Kapperman M.S., Ed.
Principal
Disciples Prayer for Tolerance Heavenly Father,
Help those blinded by pride to see that everyone was created in Your likeness.
Bless those hurt by rudeness, numbed by neglect and crippled by the injustice
of the intolerance in the world, Turn our eyes to You for tolerance, healing
and a renewed faith in You. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
