SST Referral Intervention Summary
Data-based Concerns
• Identify your concerns in regard to an average of your measured/documented information over multiple assessments– Knows 12 upper case and 6 lower case letters– Can read 25/100 Dolch sights words– Student is out of seat 25 times a day– Completes 30% of assigned tasks
• Keep a separate record of this data
• Baseline data must be measurable– Number, percent
• Student completes 50% of assigned tasks• Student knows 13 upper case and 15 lower case
letters• Student talks out 10 times during a 40 minute class
period
Intervention
• Describe what you have done or are doing to address your concerns– Work 1 on 1 with student – Provide a quiet place in the classroom – Use of an assignment folder– Review letter-sound associations– Shortened length of assignments by 50% – Develop a behavioral contract
• This will require separate documentation of the plan– Use flash cards to review and reinforce all
letters of the alphabet– Use a study carrel to reduce distractions and
provide a quiet place to work– Behavioral Contact – I will … and sign it
Implementation/Duration
• Precisely describe how each intervention has been implemented– 5 days per week for 20 minutes per day– All spelling assignments are shorted to
include no more than 8 new words
• Must include start and stop dates– Work in small groups (2 – 3 students) 4 times
per week, 20 minutes per day• 10/12/11 – 12/1/11
– Use study carrel for all independent assigned work
• 1/2/12 – 2/28/12
– Behavior contract daily• 10/27/11 – 1/27/12
Data – based Results
• Must generate data to document the effectiveness of the intervention– Knows 16 upper case and 12 lower case
letters (know 12 upper and 6 lower)– Can read 50/100 Dolch sight words (25/100)– Completes 20%of assigned tasks (30%)
• Must keep independent logs of the data so it can be verified
• The data generated must be a measurable outcome so you can compare to the baseline– Student knows 20 upper and 16 lower case words (13
upper and 15 lower)– Completes 40% of assigned tasks (50%)– Student talks out 7 times during one class period (10
times)
