Are you looking forward to the Olympics?

Yes, I've always watched the Olympics

What events will catch your eye?

I really enjoy all of the track and eld events. I will denitely be watching

Usain Bolt in the 100m and 200m

What is your favourite Olympic memory?

I have many. I always like to see athletes aempt to break their own

world records. I remember Sergey Bubka always aempng to break his

pole vaulng world record and i believe he did this 35 mes! I used to

think the pole was going to snap.

I also used to enjoy watching Michael Johnson run the 200m and 400m. He

was in a class of his own, and his 400m record sll stands today.

Olympic say what??? Our monthly look at

sport stars and the languages they speak

    Pierre de Couben was a

    Frencheducaonalistand historian, founder of

    theInternaonal Olympic Commiee, and is

considered the father of the modernOlympic

Games. Born into a Frencharistocracfamily, he

became an academic and studied a broad range

of topics, most notably educaon and history.

Without him we might not have the Olympics

we have today. Merci Monsieur Couben!

Olympic Fact; The ame itself represents a

number of things, including purity and the en-
