    1.1. DEMO DESCRIPTION

    This demonstration gives an overview of the functionality available in version 1.2 of the SSM iPad Application, released September 2011. This demonstration

    highlights how the iPad application enables business users to leverage key SSM functionality on the fly, how strategy management can be used to manageday-to-day activities, and how SSM can be used to monitor rapidly changing metrics such as Social Sentiment.

    NOTE: Partners please note that you will not be accessing the live server referenced in this scrip but rather, you will be able to show the demo using

    the demo data embedded in the application.

    1.2. INTENDED AUDIENCE

    This demonstration assumes that the audience has a basic understanding of Strategy/Performance management principles, but not necessarily a deep

    understanding of SSM, nor a deep understanding of the Apple iPad.This demo is suitable for:

    Office of the CEO/CFO/CMO Responsible for creating, monitoring, and executing organizational strategy.

    Office of the CIO Responsible for delivering scorecarding solutions to their user base.

    Business Users Responsible for delivering on organizational goals, executing key initiatives, and business analysis. Categories of business userinclude:

    o Group Managers responsible for creating and executing strategy within their line of business.o Analysts responsible for evaluating corporate performance and recommending corrective actions.o Frontline workers responsible for deliverables that impact and drive organizational performance.

    The application extends the reach of SSM to mobile users and allows them to access and leverage SSM content on the fl y.

    The application extends the collaboration capabilities of SSM and allows day to day discussions and emails to be managed within the context oforganizational strategy.

    1.5. INSTALLIN G THE APPLICATION YOUR IPAD

    Important Notes:

    iOS - Apple iPad Operating System (iOS) version 4.2 or later is recommended for running this application. The application may not run

    properly on earlier versions of the iOS.

    External Screen Rendering You cannot project this application from your iPad to external video sources (e.g. projector) from 1st

    generation

    iPads. Only the iPad 2 will allow projection of this application to external video sources.

    iPad Orientation - the application will only work while holding the iPad in Portrait position. At present it is locked from being able to rotate to landscapemode. Landscape mode will be supported in a later version.

    Disconnected Usage This application allows you to cache data from the server for offline viewing. Data caching useful as a safeguard in

    case you are not able to connect to the SAP network or to the SSM server (e.g. if you are unable to access the SSM server from a customer

    site). To enable data caching:

    o Open Settings and locate the Strategy application

    o Select Strategy, then turn the Flush Data on Exit or Suspend option Off

    o This is NOT recommended if you are using the application to connect to a server with sensitive data (this is fine for demo servers)

    o Note, if you Logout of the application (using the Logout button in the toolbar) all application data fill be flushed even if you have the

    Flush Data... option Off.

    Demonstration Database Version 1.2 of the application includes a self contained demonstration database that allows you to run the

    application without connecting to an SSM server. When first installing the application it is set by default to use the demonstration database.

    To allow it to connect to an SSM server (ie to turn Demo mode off), go to SettingsStrategy Management and turn the Use DemonstrationData option Off.

    Before delivering this demonstration you will need to install the application on your iPad. To install the application, follow the steps outlined below.

    1. Download the Application file Strategy.ipa to your local hard drive.2. Double click on the Strategy.ipa file, to launch iTunes.3. It should open in iTunes and show up under the Apps category.4. Plug your iPad into your PC5. Select the iPad from the Devices list on the left side of the screen6. Click on the Apps button at the top of the iTunes screen and make sure that Sync Apps is marked, and that SSMv0 is also marked7. Click on the Sync button at the bottom of the screen to sync the app to the iPad

    It is recommended that you launch the application before starting the demonstration/presentation. To launch the application:

    NOTE: SP2 of the application (v1.2) includes a Demonstration mode that allows you to run the application using demonstration data and does

    not require a connection to an SSM server. NOTE: If you are not running the application in Demo mode you must be connected to the SAP network (either from an SAP location or

    through a VPN connection on your iPad) for this demonstration to run, UNLESS you have already cached demo data locally on your iPad.

    1. Touch the Strategy app icon the launch the application.

    2. If you are running the application in demonstration mode, you will be taken to the Application Homepage. Skip steps 3-6 below.

    3. If you are NOT running the application in demonstration mode, once the icon is launched you will be taken to a landing page and prompted for a URL.

    Enter URL below and touch Done.

    4. After entering the URL you should be prompted for a login and password. Enter.

    o Login: pipadmin

    o Password: Support2 (case sensitive)

    5. Note: If you are not prompted for a password within a few seconds after entering the URL you most likely have entered the incorrect URL or are not

    connected to the SAP network. You will not necessarily receive an error message if the application cannot connect to the server.

    6. After successfully entering the Login and Password you will be taken to the application homepage and you should see the data on the homepage beginto populate.

    SSM provides a central managementsystem for KPIs, CorporateObjectives, Strategic Init iatives,and Scorecards.

    The Homepage provides the user asummary view of information mostimportant to them.

    Script The application has the ability to

    cache data so users can viewstrategy information whiledisconnected from their corporatenetwork.

    When initially launching the StrategyManagement iPad application, the user is takento the Homepage. On the Homepage the usercan quickly see a summary of the Initiatives,Objectives, and KPIs that are most importantto them. The users favorites are designatedby a star in the header. Users can also launch

    and view Operational Reviews that have beenpublished to their group.

    In this case Jane has launched the application,while waiting in the airport, because she hasreceived an email Alert notifying her of anemerging challenge that is impacting one ofher organizations key Objectives, BrandLeadership.

    To learn more she touches the objective.

    Slide the Initiative /KPI list to the rightuntil the NegativeSocial Sentiment KPIappears in the list

    Strategy Management has a flexiblescorecarding engin e, capable ofsourcing KP I data from a multitudeof sources. In this case we havecreated a KPI based on datadelivered from an engine capableof crawling social media sites,and identifying and quantifyingnegative mentions on those sites

    The application allows users to drilldown into KP I hierarchies. Tooptimize performance , drilling isdone on the SSM server, so whenthe Drill link is clicked the user istaken to webpage on theserverthus the page w ill have adifferent look and feel from the restof the application.

    To confirm what she read in the comment andto better understand the extent to whichnegative sentiment is being received, Janedrills into the KPI hierarchy. On the KPI drillpage Jane can see the dramatic increase innegative sentiment conveyed relating to hercompanys line of SUVs.

Here she can see the KPI owner hasincluded a link to the Edmunds Twitter page.She opens the twitter page to see i f there havebeen any recent Tweets about their SUVsituation. Fortunately there have not.

    Viewing the initiative details Jane is pleasedwith the progress made thus far but wants tobe sure that she is kept in the loop. To ensureshe is kept in the loop she sends an email tothe initiative owner requesting that she beincluded on the initiative team.
