Fine jeweler Alexis Kletjian has always loved a scintillating diamond, knowing that each stone is as unique as a finger-print. The Hingham resident, whose parents owned and operated a shop in Boston’s famed Jewelers Exchange Building, grew up surrounded by brilliant gemstones and precious metals. With jewelry acting as more than just an accessory in her formative years, it’s easy to see why she was compelled to forge a similar career path.

With a flair for aesthetic design, Kletjian has been creating bespoke pieces for an exclusive South Shore-based clientele since 2011. Last year, she launched the ecommerce portion of her business which expanded her reach nationally.

“When I design, I become inspired by a time period, mood or style,” says Kletjian. “When I make a capsule collection, I collect one-of-a-kind gemstones and then commission them to fit a specific vision.”

For spring, Kletjian has launched her popular hand-engraved diamond initial charm in platinum. The piece can be worn on a necklace or charm bracelet and is an ideal gift for new mothers or those looking to commemorate their child’s birth. “The charms are created to be an heirloom,” says Kletjian who also offers the piece in white, yellow and rose gold. “Someday my children will each be given their own charm, and remember I wore them over my heart.”

Kletjian also recently unveiled silver Retiarii earrings, which embody the shape of her logo. The chandelier-inspired piece is comprised of intricately placed shields–another signature in her collection. Retiarii is available in a variety of gold hues and gemstones including a stately diamond rendition set in white gold that has graced the red carpet at the Jewelers of America’s GEM Awards and the Women’s Jewelry Association Awards for Excellence.
