The Patodia Eurotex group is the overarching organisation of over 100-year old family-run Patodia Group. With a combination of two publicly listed companies on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) & the very hands-on leadership of 4th generation family members,the group is recognised as one of the pioneers of manufacturing organic cotton products in India.

The group has an annual turnover of approximately USD 100 million.

Established in 2002 with focus on manufacture and exports of silk made-ups, the bag division was established in 2006 with a view of manufacturing and exporting high-quality natural fibre bags. The bag division currently has 45 - 50 staff and workers.

Expansion Plans (2014-2019)The company has a 5-year plan to expand capacity to 200,000 pcs p.m. for the manufacture of cotton totes. As all products are customised, the complexity of the product will determine the production capacity for other products, accordingly.

SOCIAL POLICY

There are a number of initiatives we take on an ongoing basis to make a positive impact on the people working in our organisation, as well as the local community in our factory neighbourhood.

WORKER FOCUSEDLabor compensation - General practice-General practice among bag factories is to compensate workers on a “per piece” basis. This approach, while a low-cost option for the factory, creates a lot of stress for the worker since they have no guarantee of how much they will earn at the end of the week. Whereas in our company we pay workers on a “per diem” basis which gives the worker full security & guarantee of their compensation at the end of the week.

Proximity to the factory-80% of our workers live within 10 minutes of walking distance from the factory. This provides them convenience of lower commute time, without the use of motorised transport.

Guaranteed Bonus-Workers are guaranteed a salary bonus every year.

WOMEN WORKER FOCUSEDWorking Hours-Women start their day 30 minutes later & finish up 1 hour early. The idea is to allow them to take care of their household chores.

COMMUNITY-FOCUSEDHiring local housewives for finishing job-We almost exclusively hire housewives from within our local community, to work in our factory, on the finishing line.

Contributing to local community development activities-We are active contributors to various initiatives taken by local community group such as blood donation drives, book-donation drives, as well as monetary contribution to special cultural events in our surrounding area.
