Mizuno Brothers Ltd founded by

1997

1918Mizuno starts retail activity for sport apparel in Japan.

1938The Select Scientific Laboratory was established to bring a scientific edge to sports.

1981 First appearance of the Runbird

1983 Runbird athletics shoes go on sale

1990Signs with Mizuno. In the same year wins the Australian Open.

1991Won gold and setted a new World Record of 9.86 seconds at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo with a new introduced Mizuno track spike.

1992Mizuno wins gold at the Barcelona 1992 Olympics and sets a new World Record (52.74) at the World Athletics Championships in Stuttgart.

1994Three-Time Formula One world champion was introduced to Mizuno. Mizuno launches the

innovative and unique Wave technology.

Wave Rider

1999Fifa World Player of The Year and Ballon d’Or. Mizuno engineered a boot specifically for the 2002 World Cup.

2006 - 100 yearsMizuno celebrates its 100 years and use this timing to integrate all brand marks for all categories into one visual identity: the Runbird.

2011Mizuno is the major partner of Osaka Marathon, the most famous flat marathon in the world.

2017 20th Birthday Wave RiderThe 20th Wave Rider will be launched.

The Time collection by Mizuno, with its materials and geometries, is inspired by the incessant flow of time, the tolls that mark its rhythm, that give man the ability to measure it, and the illusion of controlling it.

Light and darkness: alternating and complementary phases, two faces of the same harmonic whole, a metaphor for the necessary succession of life. Tokyo: a metropolis dotted with neon lights that flash and illuminate the urban landscape of fluorescent colors. The collection, composed of three models, draws inspiration from these glowing colors and strong contrasts, thus capturing the hypnotic reality of Tokyo, suspended between evocative and futuristic references.

The experiences we live today are often filtered by technology, both in life and sport. Technical research applied to performance, which began in the 1990s, is still the main element to ensure that the athlete’s reaches results that are truly excellent. Mizuno pays tribute to the era in which this technological race be-gan, enhancing the typical contrasts of the multisen-sory reality to which we belong, and which enriches the models of Mizuno’s Mondo Control collection. The Mondo Control package, containing 1994’s OG techno-logy , drops in three archive-inspired colourways.
