Sunday School Hour

Bible Character Study

The Adult Sunday School class

has been looking at various

people in the Bible this summer.

They all have their own story, their own faith journey. God used them

all, regardless of who they were, where they came from, or the choices

they made.

So far we have learned about Adam and Eve, Samson & Delilah, Michal

(one of King David’s wives), evil Queen Jezebel, and Ananias and

Sapphira. During the month of August, we will be learning about

Doubting Thomas, the Woman at the Well, Abigail (another wife of

King David’s) and Rahab.

We are seeing a bit of ourselves in many of these people. We are meeting

in either the Fellowship Hall or the Journey Room (depending on the

weather). Please, come and join us at 9:15 Sunday mornings.

July-School supplies, including scissors, notepads, pencils, erasers, pencil sharpeners, pencil box or pouch, protractors, crayons, markers, pens August – School supplies, same as July.

Every month-shipping money, shoeboxes wrapped, plastic shoeboxes

Good Morning Bible Study meets on Thursdays from 10:00 am to noon in the Library. They have been studying the book of 1 Samuel. No book to buy, just bring your Bible and come for Bible Study, prayer and fellowship.

Lunch Bunch will meet at noon at the Trout

Club on August 21. Please come and join us

for a great time of fellowship.

Alpha

The next session of Alpha will be here

soon! Now is the time to be praying

about who to invite and bring with you.

If you aren’t sure how to invite

someone, we have suggestions on how

to get started. The ‘Alpha Invitation Tool’ was created as a guide and is

now available on the church’s website. Printed copies are also available

on the sign-up table in the Sanctuary. The ‘Tool’ includes a letter, note

card, and fliers that can be shared with those that God lays on your heart

to invite.

Alpha begins Thursday, September 5th

at the Look Up Center (50

O’Bannon Avenue). Please pray for this wonderful opportunity to

explore the Christian faith.

If you have questions, please contact Peggy or Kim.

Volunteers Needed: Looking for volunteers to assist with Sunday Worship service. We need greeters who would also pass offering plate and volunteers to count money after the service (takes ½ hr, work in pairs). See Carolyn
