Senior officers from departments of Police, Municipality, PHE, Health, PDD, R&B, CAPD, Fire & Emergency Services have been designated to take call on issues flagged by public. The helpline will remain functional round the clock from October 15,” an official handout said, asking public to contact 0194-2506508, 0194-2506509 and 9858222333 to register their grievances. ICPJK to hold free coaching for KAS Tanvir Sadiq demands arrangements for Muharram Srinagar Oct 14: National Confer- ence leader and political advisor to Omar Abdullah, Tanvir Sadiq today lashed out at the government for its ‘failure’ to ensure adequate arrangements for Muharram. During his visit of Zadibal con- stituency, Tanvir said no arrange- ments regarding Muharram were visible anywhere in the area and “it looks as if the government is still in deep slumber.” Interacting with people at Gulshan Bagh, Saderbal, Sheikh Colony, Botakadal, Madin Sahab, Syed Afzal, Shallabagh, Khoshalsar, Zadibal and Kaithimaidan, Imam Bara Hassanabad, Kathi Darwaza and parts of Dal interiors, Tanvir said that people complained of lack of all basic facilities including sanitation, power, roads and firewood. Tanvir asked the government to take immediate notice of the suf- ferings of people as ‘government’s failure should not affect lives of the people.’ Consultant doctors for redressal of grievances GK NEWS NETWORK Srinagar, Oct 14: Soci- ety of Consultant Doctors (SCD) has appealed to the state’s Health Minister, Ch Lal Singh, to look into their grievances that await redressal since long. “There is negligible promotional incentive as is evident from SRO 325 men- tioning promotion for only 60 posts as against 838 con- sultant posts, and that too in some selected speciali- ties only,” the SCD said in a handout today and demand- ed relooking into the anom- aly, especially when in GMC promotion to professor level is fixed and time-bound. The SCD also sought Minister’s attention towards starting unit-wise work, especially at district level to bring about accountability and improvement in patient care. “Nowhere consultants work alone in a health system except here and it is ripe time to make changes in patient care by issuing orders to make concerned people and doctors account- able to consultants, at least for patient care,” the SCD handout said.
