From Principal’s desk.......

We live today in a world that is so very different from the one we grew up in, the

one we were educated in. The world today is changing at such an accelerated rate

and we as educators need to pause and reflect on this entire system of Education. “We believe in children’s happiness than success ; because success is a result of

happiness.” We at SRI work at implementing a well balanced curriculum to ensure that the

children who walk into our school will not just love their school years but truly be

prepared to face life‟s challenges, and transform them into leaders; who are

physically ,emotionally, intellectually and spiritually in alignment.

Aristotle once said that, “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no

education at all.” Even as we impart education to match the advancement in

technology and globalization, we march our children ahead with SRI ethos of

moral values and principles. We endeavour constantly to install these qualities in

our children. We pride ourselves to help them grow and develop into sensitive

and responsible citizens of the next generation.

A committed and supportive management, dedicated teachers, caring and co-

operative parents and a great mentoring from ACT- Dr. Gururaj Karajagi Sir;

blend harmoniously to create a child-centric school.

Teamwork is the hallmark of SRI. I am very sure

through collaborative effort we can achieve more to

benefit our students who are the future leaders of

tomorrow.

STUDENTS CORNER

Our School Principal I Riya ,Grade X Student of SRI School like to write few vocables

about our Principal- Mr. Vikram Narvekar. As he is the central

figure of our school, he tends to hold huge responsibilities on

him. He is the most important person in the school as success and

failure of the school depends on him. He has worked in

Bangalore,Mysore,Hyderabad,Nagpur,Bijapur and Now part of

Bagalkot.

Coming across the qualities of our school Principal, he is lovable

and kind person rather than being strict every time. He is highly

educated and responsible man. He is also very experienced in his

field. Vikram sir is unique in his teaching style. However, he

teaches us part of Social Studies.

The most attractive thing of Vikram Sir is the encouraging the

learners to achieve their goals. I have been in this school for

10years right from first standard till the ongoing tenth. I have

seen gradual changes in the development of my school. Principal

had been changing for some reasons and I think we have got the

right person as a blessing to the school and he is the present

principal of our school –Mr.Vikram Narvekar.

Apart from growth and studies Vikram sir has a great interest in

Sports. He is very good at his sportive skills and also in

extracurricular actives .We are very happy to have such a

Multitasking Principal in our school. It feels like we learners and

teachers are in a ship where the captain of our ship(Principal) is

guiding our way and stepping ahead hoping for a fruitful future.

I see a bright future for my school. I am sure under the

insightful guidance of Mr.Vikram Narvekar the school

will Flourish. - Riya K Janali, Grade- XB

=========================================== BEING YOURSELF

All of us one or the other time have looked at somebody and

wanted to be like them. So, we start copying the way they eat,

talk, walk and even think! We do it to that extent that we become

the 2.0 version of that person. But, are you really meant to be

that? You are not born the way you are just to be the replica of

somebody else. So, respect the way you are born and BE YOU.

Many of us actually hide our true selves because we are insecure

about ourselves; we are in the fear of being judged, being left out,

not being accepted or not fitting well in your surroundings. Well,

I‟ll give you an example. Do you know a puzzle piece? Try

thinking of a puzzle piece which can fit in everywhere in the

puzzle. Not possible, right? You are just like that single puzzle

piece which doesn‟t fit in everywhere in the puzzle but fits in

perfectly and completes the whole puzzle when it is in the place it

is meant to be. You too are not meant to fit in everywhere or fit in

each and every single mould created by the society.

Moreover, why care about the people around you when you are

the only single person who actually understands you and will stay

with you forever. Live your life on your own terms and not on

somebody else‟s. Don‟t live your whole life trying to fit in the

moulds created by the society. Love yourself and just be the

person you want to be. Being yourself doesn‟t mean that you are

selfish or full of yourself; it just means that you respect who you

are and

LOVE THE WAY YOU ARE.

The Head Girl Speaks….

From School Council

I express my sincere gratitude to the principal, vice principal,

lovable teachers and my dear friends of Sri Ranganath

international school, Bagalkot for giving me an opportunity to

serve the school as head girl.

Leadership means having the self confidence to believe that

you can make a difference, the passion to believe it matters

and the courage to risk is all because you believe it matters.

Being a headgirl isn‟t about being different from anyone else

but it is about winning the trust of the students and to

organize and present them with enthusiasm and honesty. Sri

School is known for providing holistic development which

inspires us to explore horizons beyond academics.

I would like to grab all the opportunities that come my way to

keep my school at the top. I help the students to cross all the

obstacles that come their way in theirs educational journey.

I work hard to maintain the same discipline that the school

had followed since 10 years. I would like to train the students

with discipline , honesty, punctuality and self-respect in order

to help them to develop an ideal personality and try my level

best to offer them a good opportunity to explore their

thoughts.

I thank my school for giving me this wonderful opportunity,

teachers who stood side by me and encouraged me to move

forward. I thank my friends for cooperating and helping me.

Last but not the least I thank my parents for giving me such a

institution to enrich my knowledge. LET US MAKE OUR FUTURE NOW AND

LET US MAKE OUR DREAMS

TOMMOROW‟S REALITY.

Hostel Life in SRI According to Dictionary – Hostel is a place where it provide cheap food and lodging for a particular group , but it was in the

past. Now-a-days other than food and lodging we can also have revision on a academics people think about hostel where

there are proper facilities and good education. In present days many hostels have developed a lot. They are all well

disciplined and have all proper facilities.

Hostel provides the best atmosphere for study. Hostel life tends to develop healthy competition and mutual co-operation

among hostellers. Similarly ,SRI School is a residential and day scholars school. It is situated in Bagalkot near shigikeri, SRI

school is covered with fresh and beautiful atmosphere and has nice infrastructure. When I saw SRI I felt very happy because

it was maintained well. I took admission in SRI in the year 2015-16 and I was studying in 6th std. A hosteller is not under the

care of family, She/he develops a sense of independence and self reliance and confidence. In hostel early morning we wake

up at 5:00 clock become fresh and go to jogging and do exercise or yoga for physical fitness. After that we

drink healthy milk and do self reading for an hour. In the evening we have sports which make us more

satisfied with life sharp at 6.00 am hostellers will sit for studies. A student can take help of other fellows

in studies if she has any problem with any particular topic. In weekends we enjoyed a lot by watching TV

shows, entertainments and movies with special dishes, evening dance like Zumba,Classical etc. and we also

have a graphotheraphy classes .Similarly we have weekly tests and surprise tests. Hostellers have a unique unity and are

always ready to help one another whenever needed. Therefore, hostel is beneficial because we can build self confidence

,courage and how to be independent for ourselves. This helps us to move ahead with our future. By Sonia M A, Grade X

LOVE OF A MOTHER, GOD‟S ANGEL

[This Heart – touching sad story is about the Angel of God who has

been taking care of you long before you were born and will always

take care how much ever you grow old. We call this ANGEL as ‘

MOTHER’ , ‘ MAA’ ,’ MOM’ AND SO ON .] I simply hated my mom for she had only one eye that made her bizarre almost

like a witch. I would like to abuse her too often…. She cooked for students

and teachers to support the family.

There was this one day during elementary school where my mom came to say

hello to me . I was so embarrassed. How could she do this to me ? I ignored

her, threw her a hateful look and ran out. The next day at school one of my

classmates said, “ Ehhh!, your mom only has one eye ! ”

I wanted to bury myself. I also wanted my mom to just disappear. I

confronted her that day and said, “ If you‟re only goanna make me a laughing

stock, why don‟t you just die?” My mom did not respond….. I didn‟t even

stop to think for a second about what I had said, because I was full of anger. I

was oblivious to her feelings. I wanted to get out of the house, and have

nothing to do with her. So I studied real hard , got a chance to go abroad to

study. Then , I got married. I bought a house of my own. I was happy with

my life, my kids and the comforts. Then one day , my mother came to visit

me. She hadn‟t seen me in years and she didn‟t even meet her grandchildren.

When she stood by the door, my children laughed at her, and I yelled at her

for coming over uninvited. I screamed at her, “How dare you come to my

house and scare my children!! GET OUT OF HERE! NOW!!! ”And to this ,

my mother quietly answered, “ Oh, I‟m so sorry. I may have gotten the wrong

address,” and she disappeared out of sight. One day , a letter regarding a

school reunion came to my house. So I lied to my wife that I was going on a

business trip. After the reunion, I went to the old shack just out of curiosity.

My neighbours said that she died. I did not shed a single tear. They handed

me a letter that she had wanted me to have.

My dearest son,

I think of you all the time. I am sorry that I came to your house and scared

your children. I was so glad when I heard you were coming for the reunion.

But I may not be able to even get out of bed to see you. I am sorry that I was

a constant embarrassment to you when you were growing up.

You see…. when you were very little, you got into an accident, and lost your

eye. As a mother, I couldn‟t stand watching you having to grow up with one

eye. So I gave you mine. I was so proud of my son who was seeing a whole

new world for me, in my place, with that eye. With all my love to you,

Your mother

Message to my dear students….

Today you are here just because of your parents. Never disrespect them, don‟t

ignore and under estimate their sacrifices. They give us life, they raise us

better than they had been, and they give and keep trying to give better than

they ever had. Parents give up all for kids; forgive all mistakes made by kids.

There is no way to repay what they have done for kids. We

should try to give what they deserve and it is just TIME,

LOVE and RESPECT.

ABACUS AS A HOBBY Abacus is the necessity of Today‟s world. With growth of technology, most of the children‟s are depending on calculators to solve

even basic mathematical problems. On being dependent on electronic calculator, they are ignoring the opportunity that to solve

arithmetical calculation mentally or using mental calculator, as a result, it naturally denies to make our brains to sharpen.

Like any other organ of human body, our brain also needs regular exercise to keep it fit and sharp but how do we exerciser our

brain?

Mathematics provides the ideal exercise for our brain Mathematics is the logical applications of mind to tackle a particular problem.

More time spent with mathematics would invariably result in a well exercised and sharper brain. This is simply the reason why a

child strong at mathematics is able to tackle others subjects with relative ease. Mathematics fun is ABACUS: But more children‟s

fear mathematics and often try to escape from the complexities of problem solving. This is where Abacus comes to aid. Abacus

develops speed and accuracy in mathematics using very basic methods. It helps to understand mathematics confidently

Abacus training is included as hobby club to create interest in mathematics by improving their mathematical skills. Basic

mathematical operations like addition, subtractions and divisions are solved by simple movements of beads in this instrument. This

helps the students to develop a pictorial representation. BENEFITS OF LEARNING ABACUS

1. Children who learn abacus generally achieve higher academic.

2. It helps score good in all subjects.

3. It gives ability to understand the subject accurately.

4. It helps development of brain.

5. Who will learn Abacus he will become mentally strong.

6. Memory and concentration power.

7. Self confidence. Mr. Sudahakar K ,Math Dept

8. Logical and analytical thinking power.

9. Writing and listening power.

10. It develops divergent thinking capacity. Students are enjoying this abacus class and by practice they are improving their speed of solving. The can solve near about 75 sums in one minute. Some of them are going to appear for the first level abacus exam.

First of all let me thank all my teachers who carved and chiselled me to achieve this feat. SRI is a

place where they transform coal into diamonds mainly by their dedication and compassion. I

thank once again management and my teachers.

Ramya Deshpande

School is a building which has four walls with tomorrow inside.

Very True ! My school is a major part of my life.

I studied In SRI school which is one of my life. I studied in SRI school which is one of the best schools in

Bagalkot. I feel myself the Luckiest person to pass out from this institution. Starting with the amazing

infrastructure to serene calm nature around, loving teachers to yummy food that‟s served; everything is just

unforgettable .We had very good support and encouragement from our beloved teachers. They always taught us

so effectively and always encouraged us to put our doubts, ideas forward and get them cleared. We students were strong

enough to face any examinations and still I feel so happy to say that all the credit goes to my teachers. I feel very proud tell

SRI is the only school in North Karnataka to have “Science Park”. We not only focussed on our academics but also had lot

of interest in co-curricular activities. We had a lot a opportunities to show our talents and interests and no one was pulled

down. Everyone were welcomed to participate and win. Everyone tells that “Home is the school for a child” but I feel “A

school is also a home for a student” and only my school has made me tell this. One can learn many things from school but

nobody can repay it. You can just do a fraction of it by making your school the best. I am satisfied by being one of those

who made our school recognised by people not for structure or food but for teachers. Our school also has the best hostel

within the campus which welcomes all the students around Bagalkot. There is also a very large ground which implies that

school gives its attention towards the physical fitness too.
