The Newsletter for FAIRshare’s Young Savers

FAIRshare Bonus Did you know by saving with

FAIRshare, you receive a

bonus each year? This bonus is extra money

paid into your account as a reward for saving

with FAIRshare. The bonus awarded to Young

Savers for the year ending 30th September

2017 was 2.5%. What are you saving for? Saving money is a great way

to prepare for the future, help

others, and buy the things

we’ve always dreamed of.

So what are you saving for?

Credit Unions across the world run School Saver Clubs

to help children save, and we love Zawadi’s story!

Zawadi, a year 5 student at a school in Rwanda, is

saving for a goat. She hopes that by the time she

leaves school, the goat will have had babies & she can

become a goat farmer! Zawadi said "the most

important thing is to start with the little money you

get, and with patience, one may end up a millionaire."

Good luck Zawadi!

Squirrel fact! When squirrels feel threatened, they run away in a zigzag pattern. This is an incredibly useful strategy to escape hawks & other predators.

Late Night Thursdays Great news! Our

Telford branch is now

open until 6pm every

Thursday, so if you’re

visiting Telford Town Centre, pop in & say hello!

Unfortunately, we are no longer open on Saturday

mornings.

Finance Assistant

Matthew Butler left school, but he’s done plenty of

studying in the last 12 months!

We’re really proud of Matthew as he was one of only

15 young people in the UK to be accepted onto the

CU Futures programme - an innovative programme to

support and develop young people across the credit

union movement. As well as studying for his banking

exams, Matthew has taken part in a variety of special

activities across the UK, and even visited the Houses

of Parliament in October as part of the International

Credit Union Day celebrations!

Congratulations Matthew, and good luck in your exams!
