SPS’s Environmental Commitment
� Nichols-Harrington complex near Amarillo began using treated municipal sewage effluent in 1961
� Jones Station near Lubbock, began using treated municipal sewage effluent in 1973
� Since 1960, we have saved more than 178 billion gallons of fresh water at these facilities
� In 2004, we signed a contract with Amarillo to purchase an additional, ongoing supply of effluent
� Lea Power Plant is dry cooled, reducing water usage
� Commitment to and long record of exceeding clean air standards
