The SPRiPM drive package was developed to support machine builders in meeting the power efficiency levels defined by ErP directive related standards. At the same time it provides highest efficiency and reduces operating costs.

As a part of actions to meet goals for reduction of CO2-emission and reduced energy consumption by 2020, the European Union has installed the ErP directive (2009/125/EC). It gradually toughens the minimum requirements not only to efficiency of electric motors but also complete assemblies like fans, pumps, compressors and other industrial equipment.

SPRiPM Package - The Solution

The YASKAWA SPRiPM motor-drive package provides best efficiency through a broad range of speed and load, and thus helps not only to fulfil ErP demands easily but also to save energy and to reduce cost.

The SPRiPM package is a plug-and-play combination of an inverter drive teamed up with a permanent magnet motor that exceeds IE4 efficiency requirements and provides premium efficiency even in partial load conditions. SPRiPM Motors

The Super Premium interior Permanent Magnet (SPRiPM) motors are highly efficient permanent magnet motors exceeding IE4 requirements. In contrast to other technologies, SPRiPM motors keep a very high efficiency even in medium speed/load range.

The SPRiPM drive package is available in two different versions: A1000 inverter drive with SPRiPM motor V1000 inverter drive with SPRiPM motor

The V1000 is the easy to set up compact drive for up to 18.5 kW. The A1000 covers the full range up to 45 kW. With zero speed operation, impressive starting torque, and advanced functionality such as sensor less positioning, it provides everything needed to satisfy even highly demanding applications.

The SPRiPM drive package consists of the highly efficient SPRiPM motor, an A1000 or V1000 inverter drive, and an EMC filter. The drive is already pre-configured for the motor contained in the package, making it ready to run in a strikingly short time.

The Advantage of the SPRiPM Package

Even if the package of SPRiPM motor and an A1000 or V1000 inverter drive requires slightly higher initial investment than a solution with IE2 motor and inverter drive, the SPRiPM drive package pays for itself within a stunningly short time in a broad range of applications - very often in less than 2 years. From this point of amortization onwards, the SPRiPM drive package saves a significant amount of money.

The majority of motor applications run at medium speed and load, so that efficiency at partial load becomes crucial for energy saving, rather than the efficiency at rated speed. Unlike many other motor solutions with rapidly dropping efficiency in partial load, SPRiPM motors provide premium efficiency over the full speed and load range.
