78, of Azle passed away
Oct. 20, 2020 in his home
with family by his side.
Service was held at 11
a.m., Saturday, Oct. 24,
2020 in Biggers Funeral
Home Chapel. Interment:
Azleland Memorial Park,
Reno. Visitation was 9 to 11
a.m. Saturday, at the funeral
home.
Melvin was born Dec.
17, 1941 in Fort Worth, to
William Odell Nobles and
Thula Jane Hendrix Nobles.
Melvin attended school
in Lake Worth, and later
served in the Navy. He re-
tired from M & M Manufac-
turing as Vice President of
Warehouse Operations after
working for 40 years.
Melvin and Patsy cele-
brated 50 years of marriage
on July 31, 2020. They en-
joyed vacationing and trav-
eling in their RV.
Melvin was preceded in
Texas; four grandchildren

Margaret Nell Gilliland
Lehman of Granbury, Tex-
as, passed away Oct. 22,
2020, in Ft. Worth, Texas.
She was born Feb. 23, 1941
in Springtown, Texas. She
was 79 years old.
The funeral service was
Tuesday, October 27, 2020,
at White’s Funeral Chapel
with interment at Spring-
town Cemetery.
Margaret retired from
Southwestern Bell Tele-
phone. She was a member
of Christian Motorcyclists
Association, former mem-
ber and treasurer of Riders
of the Son Waco, Tx., Chap-
ter, and a former member of
VFW#7835 Ladies Auxil-
iary, Granbury, Texas. She
was a member of Triple
Cross Cowboy Church in
Granbury.
She was preceded in
death by her daughter, Wen-
dy Wilson.
Survivors include her
daughters Debra Walker and
Pam Fuller of Granbury,

35, was arrested Oct. 21 for
injury to a child/elderly/dis-
abled with intent to harm, a
third-degree felony.

or roll for the spring 2020

ogy major at the Catholic
university, maintained a
grade point average be-
tween 3.0 and 3.49.
The 7th annual Sound
of Springtown Marching
Showcase will be held from
10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 7 at
Springtown High School
Porcupine Stadium.
The marching band
competition will feature
several area high school
groups including Spring-
town’s own performance
of “The Magical Mystery
Tour—Music of the Bea-
tles.”
The Showcase is open
for class 1A – 6A for the
fi rst 20 bands that enter.
With Covid-19 restrictions,
this year the event will

have only one round with
no prelims or fi nals.
The marching show-
case will be followed by
University Interscholastic
League’s regional march-
ing contest, also at Por-
cupine Stadium, Nov. 14.
Bands that receive a Divi-
sion One rating will ad-
vance to the area marching
contest at Bob Shelton Sta-
dium in Buda, and then to
state competition at a site to
be determined.
Last year, 15 bands par-
ticipated in the marching
showcase and the Sound of
Springtown Band received
a superior “1” rating at the
UIL Regional Marching
Contest.
