In last week’s newsletter I spoke about reports, so I hope there were some great discussions last night. Set some goals with your child for next term. Make them achievable goals so they are getting success. It is time to re set and start semester 2 with renewed enthusiasm. Contact Details Have you changed your phone number or work place? Our sick bay has been very busy lately. Our front office staff do an amazing job of caring and consoling our sick or injured children. However, they often find that the contact details of the supporting family and friends have changed and it becomes a serious task to locate someone. Our process is to ring the list of numbers you have given us in order, until someone answers. If we get to the end of the list, we start again. So please make sure that everyone on your list is still willing to be a contact person for your child. Edu Dance What a show! What moves! What talented dancers! What a shame it’s all over! But what fun we had this term. A big thank you to Mrs Voysey for her energy and enthusiasm. We can not believe what she is able to achieve with our students in such a short time. Thanks to everyone for all the effort in getting the costumes sorted for each dance and to the hair salon in area 11 & 12! The dances not only moved well but looked great. There are a few photos further on in the newsletter. What A Term! It’s scary when you look at the term planner in the staffroom and just see what has gone on this term. We started with NAPLAN and finished with a Dance Party. What a great mix of experiences we have had this term. It’s now time for a break and as I said with all the sickness we have in the school at the moment we need time to get healthy again and recharge our batteries for term 3. So get healthy and fit because we start week 1 with cross country!!!!! New Carpet There will be a lot of activity around the school during the holidays as Area 1, 2 & 3 will be getting new carpet. This now means all classrooms in the school have new carpet. Even the office area and staffroom will be getting a face lift. Sausage Sizzle Congratulations Green Faction. Another winning term. It was so close but you maintained your point scoring all term. But watch out, Red and Gold are getting HUNGRY! Holidays Have a great holiday break everyone. It’s always a great time to experience the great outdoors. Go for a bike ride or a walk along the beach. Visit places that you would not normally visit, like the Art Gallery of WA, WA Museum, Fremantle Maritime Museum, Train ride to Mandurah, Kings Park. Go on a bush walk. Ride the full circuit of Lake Joondalup or the City Bridges. The list is endless. So get out and enjoy! Reports Did you receive your child’s report yesterday?

It’s now time for a break and as I said with all the sickness we have in the school at the moment we need time to get healthy again and recharge our batteries for term 3. A chance to 'Monkey around' - Year ones

head to the Zoo A wonderful excursion to Perth Zoo was had by the year one children last Monday. Wet weather was predicted so we were all prepared; instead we were blessed with some beautiful winter sunshine with only one downpour. The children visited all the animals with lots of walking (and some running) around, whilst they were able to get up close and personal with some friendly Australian Wildlife in the magical forest presentation. They learnt that when we go into the bush or visit parks, to 'leave only our footprints behind'. If you are going away these school holidays, please be mindful of this important message, talk to your children about the effects of littering and dispose of all litter thoughtfully, as we should all be proud of this beautiful country of ours and take care of it and its wonderful creatures. Thank you very much to all of our fantastic parent volunteers who came along from area 11 and 12, ably assisting us on the day. Year One Teachers

Today Kindy, Pre-Primary, Year 1 and Year 2 children were lucky enough to have a visit from Rebecca Hamer, author of 'Where oh where is Monty bear?'. Monty bear made the trip from Singapore to Kallaroo to share his story. Rebecca talked about feelings and emotions and what they look like and techniques you can use to support these. Rebecca had all children engaged in the story from start until finish! Using her 'magic book' and teaching big belly breaths and breathing techniques using their hands. If you would like to order a copy of 'Where oh where is Monty bear', forms will be sent home today!

Hot Chocolate Morning in year one A12 enjoyed a warm hot chocolate to welcome our winter season and bid a happy holiday to a couple of students going on extended trips for term 3. There was some Mathematics however as the children timed how long it took for the chocolate on the Tim Tam to melt

once immersed into the yummy warm liquid! (they devoured 2 marshmal-lows each while timing so there wasn't too much talking going on!)

Area 8 decided to a Morning Fitness class today, which was held in the Undercover Area due to the weather. Parents and siblings had the chance to join in too. What a great way to start the day
