Springbrook High School Special Programs

Springbrook High School offers many outstanding programs that will appeal to all students!

International Baccalaureate Middle Years (9-10) through Diploma Programmes (11-12)

Continuum All Springbrook students start in the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) in 9th and 10th grade. Their courses stress culture (their own and others), communication (both oral and written) and connections (to other subjects and the real world). The courses are taught from an inquiry approach. This provides a solid foundation for participation in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IB DP) at Springbrook High School. IB DP is a small community of highly motivated learners. Students pursue a rigorous and comprehensive two-year curriculum that focuses on international studies through six disciplines, including English, second language, history, mathematics, science and the arts. Emphasis is also placed on the Core: Theory of Knowledge, which provides students with thought provoking skills to challenge and analyze learning and its philosophical and ideological approach, the Extended Essay, which prepares students for extended research and writing, and Creativity, Action Service (CAS), which provides balance to a student’s academic program. Students who complete the program are more than prepared for scholarly responses and critical discussions at the secondary and collegiate level and are prepared for any course of study.
