WELCOME
Eating clean isn’t complicated. It’s beautifully simple and wonderfully advantageous for
your body.
This simple program to prove that you too can experience the divine deliciousness that
comes with cleansing and renewing your body.
To be clear, this program is not a diet, it’s a lifestyle shift. There will be no calorie
counting or freaking out about losing weight. Instead, we will focus on nourishing and
regenerating our bodies.
Ii is always wise to take a deep breath before starting any new program. Making any
change in our food or lifestyle can feel overwhelming, which is why I want you to take
the time to read this guide before beginning.
You will eat seasonal foods to naturally cleanse your body such as beans, pseudo
grains, fruit, vegetables, and healthy fats.
This program is a flawless fit for you, even if you’re brand new to eating clean or have
experienced a clean eating program before. No matter the situation, you’ll see results!
Are you ready? Of course, you are. Remember, you are the best!
I look forward to hearing about your successes.
All the best!

WHY WE NEED TO EAT
CLEAN
Most of us aware that we and are exposed to millions of toxins daily. As a result, our
bodies suffer from toxic overload and are often unable to cleanse automatically like
our bodies are designed to do. These toxins often cause:
• Fatigue
• Foods allergies or intolerances
• Skin problems
• Weight gain or inability to gain weight
• IBS
• Hampered immunity
• Headaches or other pain throughout your body
• Hormonal imbalances
• Depression, anxiety, or constant mood swings
• Trouble sleeping
• Low sex drive
• Sugar cravings, and so much more!
Ready to eradicate all these symptoms? This program will bring about revitalized
wellness. By the end of the program, you will have learned how to:
Release the toxins throughout your body.
Discover which foods work for your body, and which foods don’t
Nourish your body with clean seasonal foods
Release stress and negativity from your life
Build sustainable change
Often clients tell me that they are eating clean already and still have issues. I often
remind them that they may have sensitivities or allergies that cause distress in our
bodies. My program addresses these concerns by doing an elimination diet. During this
process I remove commonly allergenic foods from your diet for at least a few days, and
then reintroduce those foods one at a time so that you can monitor your body’s
response to each.

WHY A SPRING DETOX?
When the seasons change our bodies change. Spring represents renewal, growth, and
expansion.
When you think about the spring, you think of blossoming flowers, butterflies and birds
chirping. Spring is the ideal time to cleanse.
In Chinese medicine, every season supports a different organ, which is why seasonally
cleansing is vital. The spring season honors the liver and the gallbladder.
The liver and gallbladder work in harmony to support a strong immune system,
balanced moods, and healthy digestion. The liver is responsible for filtering and
neutralizing harmful substances in your body. It has 500 metabolic jobs, which it cannot
perform optimally when overburdened with toxins.
Why is the gallbladder so important? Bile is produced by the liver and stored in the
gallbladder. A toxic and overburdened liver leads to an impaired release of bile from
the gallbladder, which affects the breakdown of fats and overall digestion.
In addition, Chinese medicine, each organ is associated with an emotion. The
emotion associated with the liver is anger, and resentment is linked to the gallbladder. If
you have found yourself feeling irritated or angry, this program should help you release
those blocked emotions and find a sense of peace. You will feel cleaner, lighter, more
focused, and your mood will balance as well.
Allowing emotional toxins to surface and be released during the program is just as
important as the physical side of the clean eating. If you find emotions coming up, give
yourself the space to process them. Old feelings of anger or resentment may come in
waves as you release the physical toxins. Allow the emotions to filter away as you
rebirth, recharge and renew.

YOUR CLEAN EATING
PROGRAM
INTRODUCTION
Your program is divided into three phases. Here is a brief introduction to the phases,
and we’ll go into more detail in each individual section.
Phase 1: The Pre-Clean Eating/Prep Phase 5-Day Detox Challenge
During this phase, you’ll prepare your body for a successful cleanse and begin
eliminating foods on the Do Not Eat list. There are no meals for this phase, but you’re
encouraged to choose meals from your Recipe Guide.
Phase 2: The Clean Eating Phase (days 1-7)
During this phase, you’ll begin cleansing your body by following the Suggested Meals
outlined for you. You will not consume foods or drinks on the Do Not Eat list.
Note: This program includes seasonal beans and seasonal pseudo-grains. If you wish to
eliminate the beans or grains, I suggest exchanging for another meal or making a clean
meal such as a raw salad, with a choice of protein and healthy fat.
Phase 3: The Transition phase (days 8-14)
During this phase, you’ll reintroduce common high-allergenic foods and pay close
attention to your body for symptoms that may signal an allergic reaction or food
sensitivity. You’ll follow the Suggested Meals outlined for you and eat from the Do Eat
list, except for foods on the Do Not Eat list that will be reintroduced.

PHASE 1 (5 DAYS Challenge)
As mentioned, phase 1 is considered the preparation phase for a successful
cleanse.
During this phase, you’ll begin to reduce your intake of food and drinks on the Do
Not Eat list, such as:
Coffee
Processed foods
Foods with nitrates
Foods with colorings or additives
Foods with chemicals
Foods with hormones
Foods with yeast, such as bread even healthy sprouted bread like Ezekiel
Please remember: there are NO meals planned for this phase, but you are free to
choose any of the recipes from your Recipe Guide.
This phase is five days long; however, if you need to extend this period, please do.
Many who have blood sugar imbalances, high cholesterol, candida, or sleep issues,
find that eliminating these foods or chemicals can cause an unpleasant cleanse
reaction such as headaches, loose stool, bloating nausea, constipation, rashes, fatigue,
poor sleep irritability or feeling light headed.
If you have a cleanse reaction during this time, please refer to the Detox Support
Tools. When you have cleanse reactions, try this:
1. Skin brush in the morning and night
2. Drink plenty of water with lemon and coconut water
3. Take a probiotic upon waking
4. Take an Epsom salt bath at night
During this time, examine what you are exposing your body to and ingesting on a
daily basis. Look at the ingredients in your lotions, cosmetics, bath products, perfume,
foods, etc. I tell my clients all the time, if you must google what the ingredient is, your
liver can’t process it.
Keep in mind, sweating is vital for cleansing and circulation. Moving your lymphatic
system, your body’s sewage system, will reduce cleanse symptoms. By taking an Epsom
salt bath, visiting the sauna, or doing light exercise, you will sweat out the nasty stuff that
is making you feel junky.
During this time, focus on the basics:
10

These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.
This is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
1. Drink at least half your body’s weight in water daily. Add lemon or lime
juice to cleanse the liver and lymphatic system.
2. Drink a green juice (see recipe guide for delicious juice options or make
your own alternative from the Do Eat List), a powered green drink, or a
cup of dandelion or nettle tea. If you make a smoothie, add Aloe Vera
juice.
3. Consume fruits and vegetables high in fiber; these will naturally sweep the
colon of wastes.
4. Reduce your intake of coffee and other sources of caffeine. These
stimulants increase cortisol levels which cause gut imbalances and affects
your body’s ability to maintain a healthy PH level.
5. Consume cultured foods; these good bacteria-rich foods enhance colon
cleansing, reduce sugar cravings, and help to naturally clean eating the
body and restore digestive wellness.
6. Take a natural laxative if you have problems moving bowels, such as
Triphala or additional magnesium. *Always consult your doctor before
taking any supplements.
7. Enjoy light meals; foods that are light and bitter will help to cleanse the
accumulated wastes from winter.
8. Enjoy a cup of dandelion tea or clean eating tea during this time to help
your body release unwanted toxins.
Here are some of my clean eating success tips to prepare you for the next phase:
1. Batch cook and meal prep before the next phase begins. Take a trip to
the market and buy BPA-free containers and glass jars to store your food
in.
2. If you need to swap a recipe because you’re allergic to an ingredient, or
if you plan on eating out or are not at home, do not worry. Try and
match the recipe to the best of your ability or ask for a clean and healthy
clean eating meal like a salad with avocado, protein and olive oil with
the juice of a lemon.
3. Stay calm. Stress is a significant toxin. Therefore, the more you breathe
and step into a quiet, calming space, the easier it will be for your body to
release toxins naturally. My best advice is to follow the schedule for all
phases and schedule blocks of time for self-care and relaxation.

PHASE 2 (DAYS 1-7)
During Phase 2, you will follow the meals outlined for you and remove all foods on the
Do Not Eat list.
This phase is very important, as you are removing foods that are highly allergenic and
very toxic. However, this is your divine clean eating. If you know you’re not allergic to a
certain food and you want to keep it in your diet, feel free.
I recommend adding a clean protein at lunch and dinner, based on your protein
needs. On average, my clients add:
• 3-5 ounces of protein to both lunch and dinner (women)
• 5-7 ounces of protein to both lunch and dinner (men)
Be sure to choose healthy and clean protein sources that are organic and grass-fed
(ideally), such as those below. My favorite low-mercury fish choices are salmon,
sardines, anchovies, shad, and smelt. They are high in omega-3 fatty acids, which are
great for fighting free radicals in the body.
ANIMAL-BASED PROTEIN SOURCES (DURING ALL PHASES OF CLEAN EATING)
MEATS (nitrate-free and organic is best)
• Chicken, pasture-raised
• Turkey, pasture-raised
• Bison, grass-fed
• Beef, grass-fed
• Lamb, grass-fed
FISH, SEAFOOD
• Canned fish (sardines, anchovies, wild salmon), but look for BPA-free cans
if possible
• Fresh or frozen fish such as wild Pacific salmon or non-fatty white meat fish
like Pacific cod, trout, sea bass, mackerel, Dover sole, or albacore
• Shellfish, such as wild shrimp, or scallops
*Make sure the fish you are eating is low in mercury. A list of low-mercury fish can be
found here: http://www.nrdc.org/health/effects/mercury/guide.asp

PLANT-BASED PROTEIN SOURCES (DURING ALL PHASES OF CLEAN EATING)
These are simple suggestions for vegan protein options.
• Three tablespoons hemp seeds, one-fourth cup sunflower seeds, or one-
fourth cup pumpkin seeds
• Avocado
• One cup of green peas
• Coconut meat
• Sprouts
• Two tablespoons of chia seeds or chia gel
• Chia pudding
• Nutritional yeast: one to two tablespoons, if tolerated
• One to two scoops of plant-based protein powder for smoothies, soups or
even mixed into a dip
• Miso soup
In addition to the meals outlined, free to add two snacks between meals, such as:
• A smoothie with a good quality dairy-free protein like hemp seeds, hemp
protein or pea protein
• A nutrient-dense protein ball
• An apple spread with SunButter and shredded coconut
• A soaked date
• Berries topped with three tablespoons of hemp seeds
• Chia pudding with berries, raw cacao, hemp protein, and cinnamon
• Choice of protein and a small salad with the juice of a lemon and two
tablespoons olive oil
• Green Juice with two tablespoons of chia seeds
• Celery with two tablespoons of sunbutter
If you feel tired during this phase, I suggest you add: A scoop of plant-based protein
to smoothies, soups or even mixed into a dip. You can also add in healthy
carbohydrates such as yams, sweet potatoes, or root vegetables such as carrots.
Make sure that in addition to documenting your meals this week, you document
how you feel after each meal in your diary. This is very important.

PHASE 3 (DAYS 8-14)
During Phase 3, you will slowly reintroduce foods that may trigger a histamine
reaction by following the Suggested Meals that have been laid out for you.
Here’s what you’ll be reintroducing each day along with the recipe name:
Day 8: Dairy - Strawberry Banana Yogurt Parfait
Day 9: Dairy: - Spinach Salad with Peas and Feta Cheese
Day 10: Wheat- Ezekiel Toast with Avocado
Day 11: Wheat- Pasta Salad Bowl
Day 12: Eggs - Scrambled Eggs with Clean Eating Pesto
Day 13: Eggs & Wheat - Whole Wheat Pancakes
Day 14: Nuts - Walnut and Grapefruit Salad
As you reintroduce these foods, watch out for symptoms such as:
• weight gain
• a stuffy nose
• poor sleep
• cravings
• a shift in mood
Be sure to track of all of your symptoms in your food diary. During this time, it is
important to write down any physical or emotional changes you experience.
Keep in mind that food sensitivities may or may not be permanent. Just because
you are sensitive to something now, doesn’t mean you’ll always be sensitive to it. For
example, when you’re stressed or the bacteria in your gut is out of balance, you may
experience more food sensitivities.
Also, make sure to add protein to your meals as you did in Phase 2.
This phase is 7 days long; however, individuals with a history of food allergies,
digestive issues, or unexplained health issues might want to extend the reintroduction of
foods past 7 days.

CLEAN EATING SUPPORT
TOOLS
*The following clean eating support tools encourage cleansing. In addition to the
tools outlined in the protocol, feel free to add as many of these to your daily ritual as
you feel the need. Just be sure to stay hydrated during the process!
CONTRAST SHOWERING
Contrast showering is so easy to do and requires no extra purchases! In the shower,
alternate between hot and cold water to support lymphatic drainage. The hot water
brings blood flow to the skin’s surface while the cold water directs blood flow inward to
the organs.
I recommend three minutes of hot water, one minute of cold, three minutes of hot,
and so on. You can repeat this for 15 minutes, always finishing with cold water.
TONGUE SCRAPING
I suggest scraping your tongue daily in the morning and before bed. This method
removes the mucus and toxic buildup in your mouth.
Use a tongue scraper or a spoon to reach to the back of your tongue, pull forward,
and scrape off the white film, then repeat. My favorite tool is Dr. Tung's Tongue Cleaner.
You can buy this on Amazon or at your local health food store.
SKIN BRUSHING
15

I cannot say enough good things about skin brushing. Skin brushing supports your
lymphatic system, kidneys, and liver and has been shown to reduce toxins by 25% in the
body. You can skin brush in the morning before your shower and at night.
How to skin brush:
• Skin brush with a dry brush (made for this purpose) before you shower or
bathe. My favorite by Yerba Prima, available on Amazon or at your local
natural food store.
• Always brush toward your heart with the flow of the lymphatic fluid.
• Start at the soles of your feet and then move up your legs, brushing in a
circular motion.
• Brush your chest and shoulders toward your heart in long strokes, and
then start at the fingertips and brush toward your body. Use small,
circular strokes in your armpits.
• Move in a circular motion counterclockwise on your stomach to respect
the direction of digestion and encourage cleansing.
EPSOM SALT BATH
Epsom salt baths should be a clean eating tool you take advantage of during this
program. Epsom salt, or magnesium sulfate, is wonderful for:
• Lessening muscle cramps
• Adding magnesium to your body, one of the most important minerals for
sleep, healthy bowels, and brain function
• Improving nutrient absorption
• Easing stress and improving sleep and concentration
Here’s how to make an Epsom salt bath:
Add 1 cup of Epsom salts, ½ cup baking soda, ½ cup sea salt, and ¼ cup Bragg’s
raw apple cider vinegar (optional) to a warm bath. You can also add a few drops of
essential oils, such as lavender or another favorite essential oil. Relax and enjoy your
luxurious cleansing bath.

CASTOR OIL PACK
This may sound scary, but it is not. Castor oil packs have been used for centuries to
pull toxins out from the body. You can do a pack on your abdomen, chest or even your
thighs to reduce cellulite (which are toxins stored in fat).
There are two ways to do a pack:
Rub castor oil on your stomach, liver (right side) and upper abdomen. Some people
prefer to soak a cloth, towel or old shirt in the castor oil. Wrap the pack in plastic wrap
(BPA-free preferred) and then apply over the desired organ. You can lay a hot water
bottle or a heating pad on the top of the pack and relax as you release toxins for about
45 minutes.
OR
Lay on a towel and rub the castor oil on your stomach, liver (right side), and upper
abdomen. Then re-apply every 15 minutes until you’ve reached the 45-minute mark.
OIL PULLING
Oil pulling is by far one of my favorite tools, and it is so easy to do. Oil pulling
removes unwanted bacteria and yeast from the mouth.
I recommend oil pulling on an empty stomach. If you are doing both oil pulling and
tongue scraping, I suggest you start with the oil pulling. You can use coconut oil or
sesame oil.
To do oil pulling:
• Put 1-2 tablespoons of oil in your mouth
• Swish the oil for 5-20 minutes
• Spit the oil into the trash to avoid it hardening and clogging up your sink
• Rinse your mouth with water and sea salt, then brush your teeth

GUT HEALTH 101
If you have belly bloat, weight gain, or bowel issues, or even feel tired after eating,
you may want to focus on improving your gut health by doing the following.
SOAKING ALL GRAINS, BEANS,
SEEDS, AND NUTS
This method removes phytic acid from grains, beans, seeds, and nuts. Phytic acid is
a compound that comes from the phosphorous found in plants. It leaches minerals from
your body and can cause digestive and thyroid issues.
1. Add the grains, beans, seeds, or nuts to a bowl of warm or room-
temperature water.
2. Add 1-2 tablespoons of lemon juice or Bragg’s raw apple cider vinegar.
3. Soak the grains, beans, seeds, or nuts (for 12-24 hours).
4. Leave the bowl sitting on your countertop.
5. Empty the grains, beans, seeds, or nuts into a colander and rinse at least
six times to remove any remaining phytic acid.
6. Cook the grains or beans as usual, or store the seeds or nuts in your fridge
for 1-2 days.
*Remember, refer to the DO EAT LIST for approved seasonal beans and grains.

PRIMAL & PALEO CLEAN EATING
Many people have found going grain free and removing beans from their diet is
helpful for restoring digestive issues as well as balancing hormones.
This is not a requirement for all but if you desire to go grain and bean free during the
clean eating phase, simply exchange a recipe with one in your recipe guide.
If you have reactions or belly bloat when consuming beans or grains, even pseudo
grains, which are included in the program, make sure to soak using the instructions
above.
Many people who suffer from digestive issues, inflammation, joint pains, thyroid
problems, or auto-immune disease find that following a grain-free diet is beneficial.
The reason why some people don’t tolerate even gluten-free grains well is that all
grains, nuts, and beans contain phytic acid. Phytic acid is a compound that comes
from the phosphorous found in plants. Too much phytic acid can inhibit the thyroid,
hamper digestion, and leach vital minerals from the body, such as zinc and iron.
Phytic acid also interferes with the natural enzymes your body needs to digest your
food. If you are not digesting a certain food properly, your gastrointestinal system
cannot function well.
Restoring Digestive Wellness will greatly change your life. You can soak grains,
beans, and nuts during this program and journal daily to document your experience.
PROBIOTICS
I cannot stress enough the importance of a healthy digestive system for thyroid,
hormonal health, weight loss/gain, immune health, sleep, energy and focus to name a
few.
I take a probiotic daily. There are so many probiotics on the market but here are my
favorites:
1. Prescript Assist: a soil-based organism and contains many bacteria strains
including Lactobacillus Plantarum, which has been shown to reduce wall
permeability in patients with leaky gut syndrome.
2. Gut Pro: a fabulous probiotic for people who have an oversensitive
digestive system and tend to have a reaction to probiotics. Many of my
clients use this conjunction with a probiotic such as Custom Probiotics CP-
1 or Renew Life Ultimate Flora Extra Care Probiotic 50 Billion, or those from
Klaire Labs.
Always consult your doctor before taking a supplement.

CULTURED FOODS AND DRINKS
In your Recipe Guide, there are instructions for making cultured foods; however, you
can buy them at the store as well.
My favorites are:
1. Coconut water kefir such as Kevita
2. Coconut milk yogurt or coconut milk kefir
3. Inner-eco probiotic drinks
4. Body Ecology probiotic drinks
5. Bubbie’s cultured foods
6. Cultures for Health cultured and fermented foods 7. Kombucha by Synergy or Kevita
Feel free to speak to your doctor before adding any supplement
to your diet.
FOOD COMBINING
I want to mention food combining because it is a method that has helped me
improve my digestion. Food combining is essentially combining different food groups to
maximize digestion and nutrient assimilation. If you are often bloated, exhausted or
constipated, then you may find it beneficial; however, not everyone needs it. You can
learn about the principles of food combining here:
http://bodyecology.com/articles/food_combining_optimal_health_and_weight.php
If you have chronic digestive distress, food allergies, or a lack of energy, food
combining is a great tool to implement.
