Our Itinerary
Day One
The Trip Begins!
Day One
Depart Louisville at 7 AM
Have an awesome road trip!
Arrive in New Orleans at approximately 7 PM
Check into hotel
Go out to eat! Mmm, some NOLA food!
Day Two
The Shopper’s Dream!
Day Two
Get up bright and early for some great shopping at the
Old French Market!
Short walk to eat at the world-famous Café du Monde
(« Bon Appétit ! »)
Then it’s off to Royal Street and Bourbon Street for
some more great shopping!
Finally, we end the day with dinner at Louisiana Pizza
Kitchen.
Day Two
Some shops to look forward to:
Marie Laveau’s House of Voodoo
Various Antique Shops
Aunt Sally’s Fresh Praline Shop
Skully’z Recordz
Papier Plume Stationery
So much more!
Day Three
Museum Day!
Day Three
Rise and Shine! We’re off to the Musée Conti Wax
Museum!
Afterwards, a light lunch at Croissant d’Or. Mmm!
Next on our list is the beautiful Beauregard-Keyes
House, with some of the finest botanical gardens in all
of New Orleans!
Not scared? Well you will be when we go to the New
Orleans Historic Voodoo Museum!
Day Three
After our museum questing, we’ll finish up with a
“small” meal from Café Maspero!
When our bellies are full after are sumptuous feast, it’s
off to Frenchman Street for a night of music, dancing
and fun!
When we’re all tuckered-out, back to the hotel to get
rested for day four!
Day Four
Our first day out of the French Quarter…
Day Four
We’ll start our day a little later today, for you late-
sleepers! At 10 AM, we’ll arrive at The New Orleans
School of Cooking, were we’ll be instructed on how to
make traditional créole cooking, like
Gumbo, Jambalaya, Bread Pudding and
Pralines…then we’ll eat it!
Afterward, FREE DAY! I’m sure we’ll find some stuff
that we want to do. Now’s the time to do it!
Day Five
Mellowing Out
Day Five
Good morning, art lovers! It’s off to view the home of
one of the greatest Impressionist painters: Edgar
Degas!
Quick lunch—fast-food eatery chosen democratically!
After we eat, we’re off to the New Orleans Museum of
Art. The best part? It’s free today! Now, I wonder if
they have anything by Degas…
Day Six
I LOVE ANIMALS!
Day Six
Rise and shine! Leaving by 10 AM, we have a choice:
the Aubudon Zoo, Aquarium, or Insectarium!
Afterward, dinner at a spontaneously chosen
restaurant!
Another night out on the music scene, kickin’
back, and laisser les bons temps rouler!
Back to the hotel for some much deserved sleep!
Day Seven
Sweet respite!
Day Seven
A nice day of relaxation at the hotel. You know you’re
going to be tired after all that running we’ve been
doing for the past six days!
Time to get all gussied-up for dinner! We’re off to the
famous Arnaud’s for a spectacular dinner to celebrate
our trip! (Be warned—it’s a bit pricey!)
Day Eight
Our final day!
Day Eight
Another free day! We’ll keep our eyes and ears peeled
for some fun things!
After dinner, we’re off to a frightfully fantastic ghost
tour of the Big Easy, with Bloody Mary as our guide!
Eeeeek!
After the tour, we’re off to live it up on Bourbon Street!
Party time!
Day Nine
Au revoir !
Day Nine
Thus ends our stay in the Big Easy. We’ll be out of the
hotel by 9 AM and say our final farewells to the New
Orleans that we’ve come to know over the past
week, taking with us memories that will last a lifetime!
We’ll arrive back in Louisville by 10 PM; home sweet
home!
