If you have ticked mainly orange or blue, then you may benefit from attending a Learn2b course where the focus is on exploring ways of coping with everyday situations – where there is an opportunity to discuss feelings and emotions in a safe environment. See page 4 for more details.

If you want to learn something new but you lack confidence or have barriers that prevent you from doing what you would like to do, then Here4U may be the perfect answer.
Research1 shows that learning new skills can improve your overall wellbeing by• Boosting self-confidence and raising self-esteem• Helping you to build a sense of purpose• Helping you to connect with others
Here4U is a programme of learning which focuses on all of the above, giving opportunity to access free learning. We help break down some of the barriers that people may face in their lives – this may come from a variety of different issues – financial, disability, transport, long term health conditions, or as a result of a poorlearning experience in the past. By joining a class in your community, you can potentially benefit in lots of ways.
We have a range of subjects for you to learn – all set in a very supportive environment. Whether you want to gain a new skill, hobby or move towards qualifications, we will work with you to reach your goals, break down some of the barriers and gain confidence along the way.
How do I qualify for a free place? You may be eligible for a free place on a Here4U course if you are 19 or over, live in Northamptonshire, and can say ‘yes’ to one or more of the statements below:• you are in receipt of benefits or unemployed• you are socially isolated, feel lonely or have little or no support• you live with a long term health condition (physical or mental health, learning difficulty or learning disability• you are registered disabled• you are a carer (registered or unregistered)• you are recently bereaved• you have low level qualifications in English or Maths• your GP recommended a course to you
Just like physical health, we all have mental health. For some of us though, there are times in our lives when things get ‘too much’ and we can lose the ability to focus due to feeling anxious or stressed. We may also experience feelings of isolation, guilt, irritability, panic and a general lack of interest in things we used to enjoy.
Learn2b offers a variety of courses to encourage self-help and build (or re-build) confidence which can help recovery from times of poor mental health (which does not have to be diagnosed as mental ill health). Learn2b offers the opportunity to have some vital ‘me time’ away from everyday life, particularly when things are getting on top of us.
If you or someone you know is experiencing poor mental health right now (or has in the past) then we can support the recovery process through learning.
Our tutors have been selected specifically because of their own experiences of mental ill health, they are qualified in their subject matter and passionate aboutthe principles of Learn2b. All of our staff work hard to provide a safe, welcoming environment that will help you to relax, unwind and recharge.
Why is Learn2b different to Here4U?In Learn2b we use the subject matter to focus our thoughts and feelings, and explore ways of developing coping strategies. This might be through arts and crafts, music, drama, mindfulness. The main aim of the session is not to learn the skills of the subject, but how the subject aids distraction and can help with expressing ourselves. This helps with understanding why we feel and behave like we do in times of distress or stress, or when our mental health is dipping.
Recognising early warning signs and knowing what to do to make decisions, gain (or regain) control and make changes in areas of our lives can promote longer periods of ‘good times’. You can progress onto Here4U to study the subject in greater detail at any point.
