Every associate on the Kmart Pharmacy Team helped make this accomplishment possible. This recognition is a true testament to your care, both behind and beyond the counter. Jaclyn Smith Launches New Collection at SearsIn the fashion world, styles come and go, but one of the most timeless and enduring icons of the past three decades is the incomparable Jaclyn Smith.

In what was truly a bold and pioneering move in 1983, Jaclyn teamed with Kmart to launch one of the first celebrity-branded apparel lines and Kmart’s first celebrity brand. Since then, more than 100 million women have purchased clothing or accessories with the Jaclyn Smith name.

Her strong brand recognition and years of success at Kmart culminated in an exciting announcement that top items from Jaclyn’s elegant, on-trend Ready to Wear collection are now available in select Sears stores nationwide. The full assortment is also available at Sears.com/Jaclyn.

Last fall, teaming with her daughter, Jaclyn introduced Spencer by Jaclyn Smith, a layette collection inspired by her new granddaughter. That line was introduced at Sears stores last fall and features affordably priced, ultra-soft 100 percent cotton and cotton blends, affordably priced from $19 to $29.99.

Here is a segment that aired on the KTLA 5 Morning News, Monday, March 19, 2018.

Jaclyn Smith Launches New Collection at Sears (cont’d.)

To celebrate the launch of her line’s arrival to Sears, Jaclyn held a meet-and-greet at the Sears in the Del Amo Fashion Center in Torrance, California. More than 300 Shop Your Way members lined the “blue carpet” for the opportunity to meet Jaclyn and get a first look at her collection. She graciously connected with fans to take selfies, offered fashion advice and gave autographs and hugs.

“It’s a privilege to work with a hands-on business partner like Jaclyn Smith, whose savviness and ability to anticipate women’s fashion trends for so long in the constantly evolving fashion world is remarkable,” said Greg Ladley, president of apparel and footwear at Sears Holdings. “More than five million Shop Your Way members have purchased Jaclyn Smith Collection products in Kmart over the last 12 months alone, so we look forward to building Jaclyn’s current brands and extending her powerful reach and brand loyalty across to the Sears community.”

As a mother, grandmother and entrepreneur, Jaclyn understands our members and genuinely cares about what they want – her collection focuses on the modern, sophisticated woman for whom style and quality is a priority. That woman is busy, working, taking care of herself and her family and is looking for one place to make her shopping easy. And with her long track record of success, it’s no wonder her brand has an 80 percent awareness among 30-60 year olds, making it one of America’s most recognized brands. In 2016, almost 700,000 ‘slinky tees’ and 500,000 blouses were sold at Kmart. The sophisticated collection inspired by everyday looks starts at $10.00 and features elegant essentials like Jaclyn’s best-selling blouses that are must-haves for transitioning from daytime to evening. The stylish selection includes a variety of silhouettes for every shape whether it be curvy, classic or A-line. Much more, including jeans, tees, swimsuits, shoes, handbags and accessories are also available at Sears.com/Jaclyn.

3. When was Allstate Tires founded? In 1925, Sears, Roebuck & Co. held a national contest to decide the name of a new brand of car tires. After over two million name submissions, “Allstate” was chosen as the winner; the trademark was adopted the very next year. The tires success in both the catalog and retail stores, prompted Sears Chairman General Robert E. Wood to praise the Allstate tire’s contribution to Sears’ retail store success. The insurance company was spun off in 1993.

The idea for Allstate Insurance Company came during a bridge game on a commuter train in 1930, when insurance broker Carl L. Odell proposed to then Sears Chairman General Robert E. Wood, his neighbor, the idea of selling auto insurance by direct mail. The idea appealed to Wood, and he passed the proposal to the Sears board of directors, which approved it. Allstate Insurance Company, named after Sears’ tire brand, went into business on April 17, 1931, offering auto insurance by direct mail and through the Sears catalog.

Home Services Business Positions Sears as a Leader in Smart Homes

Take Wally for instance – As we shared earlier in this newsletter, Wally is a wireless home sensing technology that monitors environmental conditions such as water leaks, changes in temperature or humidity, or an open door or window in the most vulnerable parts of your home. When Wally detects an issue, a local alarm goes off and you’re notified via an app on your smart phone, allowing you to immediately react to the problem and schedule service with a licensed professional. Kenmore, another iconic American brand, is also making life easier with a variety of smart appliances that include refrigerators, laundry products, dishwashers and window air conditioners, designed to be efficient, convenient and provide peace of mind.

And even tools are becoming smart. Craftsman at Sears has added two new Professional Smart Meters for easier, safer and more accurate readings. Both have smart capabilities which can connect to the app via Bluetooth to monitor and record data.

This past summer, Tech Assist was added to our technicians’ smartphones, giving them access to service manuals and technology documents while they are in a member’s home. But the really cool feature is TechAssist’s live video stream, which allows technicians faced with complex or tricky appliance problems to get diagnostic assistance from support teams in real time, which can dramatically increase customer satisfaction. A similar technology – TechTalk -- enables our members to utilize live video to chat with a technician who can answer these questions and guide them through simple repairs that save time and money.

As was the case decades ago, consumers still need washing machines repaired and carpets cleaned, and they find comfort in turning to specialists when installing new gadgets. Sears Home Services, which offers maids and handymen, is looking to become the “smart home expert” across the country. We have the best service technicians in the business, making over five million service calls annually in nearly 30 million households annually. That is why Sears Home Services will continue to deliver solid performance ensuring we remain the number one repair service in the industry. Check out the article on CNBC.com to learn more.

Did you know that Sears Home Services is the nation’s No. 1 provider of appliance repair services? It got its start in the 1950s, as more homes were being furnished with life-changing appliances such as refrigerators, vacuums and

televisions. Now, more than a half a century later, the business is still a prized division of Sears Holdings and providing service to homes equipped with smart devices. In fact, according to Mitch Bowling, CEO of Sears Home Services, our goal is to become a leader in smart homes.
