Sometimes your life takes a twist you didn’t see coming or recognize the impact of at the time. My recent move to take on the President’s role at Mountain Hardwear is one of those moments. The new challenge tapped emotions and desires I wasn’t aware were simmering so strongly. The first was my respect and admiration for one of the outdoor industry’s most influential brands. The other was how poised Mountain Hardwear is to explode and how exciting it is going to be to lead that charge.

Like most, I was fully aware of the incomparable alpine heritage and the massive number of product awards over the years, but I was underestimating what it meant to build products where people trust you with their lives. This realization made it obvious where the brand heritage was rooted.

Hard Wear. Everything is equipment.

This guiding principle allows us to lead the industry through innovation and technical advancements. We will always push the boundaries the same way our athletes do while using our equipment. Rules are for followers.

Lastly, let me introduce to you a game changing way of engaging our loyalists while simultaneously protecting the outdoors that we all play in.

It’s called Limits Unknown.

It started as a campaign and quickly became much more. The model is built around outfitting and supporting influencers, ambassadors and world class athletes that are passionate about pushing past their own physical and mental barriers with projects that are rooted in the sustainability of our planet. Each person has a story. Each story is different. Every one of them is impactful.
