THE FOOTLIGHT PLAYERS OF LA GRANGE PARK PRESENT…

A musical for ages 7 through 17 years! The 9th production from “The Footlight Players” takes audiences to the streets of Victorian England, as Oliver, a malnourished orphan in a workhouse, becomes the neglected apprentice of an undertaker. Oliver escapes to London and finds acceptance amongst a group of petty thieves and pickpockets led by the elderly Fagin. When Oliver is captured for a theft he did not commit, the benevolent victim, Mr. Brownlow takes him in. Fearing the safety of his hideout, Fagin employs the sinister Bill Sikes and the sympathetic Nancy to kidnap him back, threatening Oliver’s chances of discovering the true love of a family.

Call Backs for specific roles will be on Wednesday, January 25 from 5:00-8:00 pm.

Rehearsals: They will be held at the Community Park District Recreation Center and are typically on Fridays from 6:00-8:00 pm, Saturdays from 1-5 pm, and Sundays from 2:00-6:00 pm. Not all characters are needed at all rehearsals.

Conflicts should be stated on the rehearsal form filled out at time of audition. All undocumented conflicts will be counted as an absence. Cast members are allowed ONLY 2 unexcused absences. Tech week is MANDATORY. Rehearsal

schedule will be handed out at the first full cast rehearsal on Sunday, January 29.FEE: $119.00 (due when cast)

Friends of the Library NewsPatrons continue to donate money and books to our library through the Friends’ Bookshop. Since the Book-shop opened in July of 2005 the FOL has donated over $182,500 in cash. In 2016 our volunteers gave over 2825 hours of their time in our Bookshop. No other entity has donated more in the support of your library. Some of the programs the Friends supported this winter included It’s Christmastime in the City, Pearl Harbor: A Day that Will Live in Infamy, and Hamilton: A Rags to Riches Story.

Community Park District of La Grange ParkEaster Egg HuntThe Community Park District of La Grange Park is having their annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 1 at Memorial Park (132 Oak Avenue, LGP) at 11:00 am SHARP! This free event is for children 8 years and younger. Kids, bring your baskets and get ready to have some fun! The Eas-ter Bunny will be there to hand out goodies before the hunting for eggs begins.
