User Interface Redesign: LearningSpace Intuity

The Spring 2016 release of CAE LearningSpace introduces LearningSpace Intuity: a re-structured, even more navigable version of LearningSpace with all the well-known reliable functions and new ones to make working in LearningSpace even more clear-cut.

Modules of the CAE LearningSpace Intuity

The Users, Cases and Activities modules have been based on the unified structure of groups or cabinets and the respective individual units being listed on the main page and all features relevant in creating or editing either unit appearing in a pop-up window.

Besides the structural changes, the visual design has also been redone: introducing a new background and straightforward layout within the modules and pop-up windows.

ActivitiesA major change in LearningSpace Intuity is the renaming of two basic concepts: 'event' has become 'activity', and 'session' has become 'event'. As a result, the Events module has been re-titled and merged with Scheduling under the Activities module.

Activity Manager

The Activity Manager is the module for initiating, searching, modifying, copying or deleting any activity or related facet. It is also the place from which to develop activity associated communications. All features are directly accessible for a specific activity via the Edit Activity pop-up window.

CalendarThe new Calendar module provides a simple way to schedule events (previously referred to as 'sessions') - independent or within an activity (previously named 'event').

Calendar module - List view (new)

Exact date and time can be set, case(s), participants and resources can be assigned, and repeat options are also available to set up recurring events.

CasesThe re-designed Cases & Cabinets module allows for direct access to all features through the Edit Case pop-up window. The different tabs of the pop-up window provide a concise form to access all settings and features previously available on different pages and tabs within the Case Manager.

Building parts, including creating items within sections, has been re-designed in a much more straightforward way within the Case Content page - also accessible from the Edit Case pop-up window.

ReportsWithin the Reports module, three tabs provide surfaces for reports reviewing. Besides the Preset Reports tab including all the different tabs of the latest Reports module; checklists filled out by learners or groups of learners can be statistically compared on the Responses tab, while the Scores tab offers a brand new way to designing customized score reports.

Further Enhancements

HTML 5 Video SupportLearningSpace Intuity has HTML 5 video support providing an even more satisfying experience trough plugin-free video.

Introducing SRP PrivilegeA new SRP (Scheduling and Resource Planner) privilege has been introduced combining and replacing the Scheduling and Resource Manager (including all versions) privileges, with a 'full control' version.

Auto-Save All the re-designed modules, as well as the Users module, now have the auto-save feature, that is, any newly entered or modified data is automatically saved when clicking elsewhere within or closing a pop-up window.

Last Modification in Case ManagerWhen opening the Edit Case pop-up window for an already existing case, it is indicated in the top right corner of the window who and when last modified said case.

Timer for Learner Data EntryIn LearningSpace Intuity, there is a possibility to set time limit for the Pre- and Post-Encounter Learner parts. During data entry, the remaining time is displayed in the top right corner of the screen. Once the time is up, there is automatic submit.

Same Preset Position in Center OverviewIn the Recording module, in Center Overview, all cameras can be simultaneously set to the same preset position providing that a specific position has been previously saved on each camera using the same name. Once that name is selected from the PTZ Preset drop-down of the Record Control panel, all cameras having a preset position with said name will assume that preset position.

Automatic Sound in Fullscreen ModeWhen accessing a camera in fullscreen mode - from either Center Overview or Single Room View -, sound is automatically switched on for that camera. When exiting the fullscreen mode, either view will keep on playing the audio feed of the camera last accessed in fullscreen.

Broader Intercom UsageWith LearningSpace Intuity, Intercom function can be used with Digital Audio Kits and the ONE Boxes as well.

Updated SPlayerSPlayer has been updated to version 2.1.56.

Windows ShareWindows Shared Folder is available for LearningSpace Intuity that allows access to the full database backup, uploaded media files and recorded video files.

Updated TinyMCE PluginThe TinyMCE plugin has been updated and those in the Activities module has been expanded to include a drop-down for inserting merge tags.

VIVO IntegrationVIVO has been integrated in the new release of CAE Learning Space.

Athena and Apollo Simulator SupportBoth Athena and Apollo patient simulators have been integrated into LearningSpace Intuity, and can be connected wired or wireless.

Axis P5514 Camera SupportLearningSpace has further extended its camera support to now include Axis P5514 cameras.
