The members of the Mujeres Young Professionals Advisory Council serve as ambassadors to increase awareness and support Mujeres Latinas en Acción's work by promoting and creating philanthropic activities that increase community leadership and involvement. Their endeavors directly benefit Mujeres' programs and policy initiatives which seek to em-power Latinas by preventing violence against women, increasing access to reproductive health resources, and advocating for comprehensive immigration reform.

BAILE DE LAS CALAVERAS TIDBITS
On November 15, 2013, YPAC hosted the 4th annual Baile de las Calav-eras at the Abbey Pub and raised nearly $5,000 in funds for Mujeres Latinas en Accion. More than 350 guests enjoyed live music from Grupo Charangueo, skull face painting, fortune teller readings, fabu-lous raffle prizes and custom t-shirts from No Manches. Photos from the event can be found on the YPAC Facebook page. Our generous sponsors included Gensler, Southwest Airlines, the Chi-cago Bears, the Chicago Fire, D’Cuba restaurant, D’Noche restaurant and Flores & Associates. We look forward to seeing you at our Baile de Las Calaveras Fundraiser next year!

Their endeavors directly benefit Mujeres' programs and policy initiatives which seek to empower Latinas by preventing violence against women, increasing access to reproductive health resources, and advocating for comprehensive Immigration reform.

On Sunday, May 4, 4-6 pm, YPAC is excited to host our Beer Tasting Fundraiser at the popular Revolution Brewing - 2323 N. Milwaukee in Logan Square. For just $30, guests will enjoy unlimited beer from 5 signature Revolution brews, delicious food and door prizes, all while supporting a worthy cause!

The YPAC Membership Com-mittee is happy to announce an Informational Event for interest-ed applicants will be held on April 2, 2014 at Mujeres Latinas en Acción headquarters located at 1823 W. 17th Street, Chicago, IL 60608 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. All interested applicants are invit-ed to attend this event to learn more about Mujeres Latinas En Acción’s Young Professional Advi-sory Council (YPAC). This is a per-fect opportunity to meet mem-
bers of this community and learn firsthand about Mujeres Latinas En Acción and YPAC’s role as am-bassadors of Mujeres. The appli-cation process will also be dis-cussed at this time. To RSVP for this event or for more infor-mation please email [email protected] no later than March 28, 2014.

YPAC Beer Tasting Fundraiser

The first workshop of the professional development series was held at BLUE 1647. Roberto Lopez, Futuro Studios, facilitated a Linkedin work-shop for YPAC members. Members learned how to use Linkedin in for both professional networking and entrepreneurial ventures. Basic functions were covered as well as Linkedin Do’s and Don’ts.
