The journey begins with the roots of our global heritage; From the textiles whose inspiration reaches back to ancient mythology, the rich bio-diversity of our planet, and deep rooted practices to the art of shoemaking which has evolved from humanity’s relationship to the land, cattle, and an ever evolving sense of style that ebbs and flows through the generations. Each shoe tells the story of artists, farmers, ranchers, craftspeople, entrepreneurs, designers, and every one of us that puts a shoe on each day.

Each pair of shoes weaves together an ecosystem of people working to make the world a more vibrant and beautiful place. Whether a textile weaver, artisan leather craftsperson, or simply a lover of authentic handcrafted art, each pair becomes a symbol of our interconnectedness and the beauty of our world.

We work with Mayan women all over the country of Guatemala to showcase their woven works of art on our Peace Boot silhouette. You become an integral part of the process by choosing your handmade textiles, leather colors, and measuring your feet to create a one of a kind boot. Our textile selection is ever-changing, as most textiles are one of a kind. Explore the world of the Guate Boots and see where it takes you!

Our purpose is to connect people through art, culture and community, and cultivate a more vibrant world. Teysha works with craftspeople to collaborate and celebrate their art forms, working through the medium of handmade boots and shoes. Beautiful, vibrant textiles are joined with the finest leathers and skillful crafstmanship in our workshop in Guatemala to create one of a kind boots and shoes.

One pair of boots involves an eco system of more than five boot-makers to create. Each pair of boots comes with a tag featuring the signature of each artisan who contributed to the pair. The more we get to know each other, the more we care for and value each other!

Above is Victor, who carefully inspects and cuts each piece of leather and textile, bouncing to the Guatemalan radio, sharpening his cuchillo (knife) before each cut, and then, each evening going to his university to study accounting and hopefully become Teysha Guatemala’s Chief of Operations.
