Well first I’d like you to welcome you to Spotlight Magazine

Gemma: Thank You it’s a pleasure to be here. Q: So I heard that singing has been your calling since you was a child?Gemma: Yes, when I was younger my mother used to buy me microphones and karaoke machine and I always danced around singing everything in the dictionary (laughs). Music is my calling.

Q: How did you get into the music business?Gemma: Well... I signed to a small record industry, but it wasn’t going very far and one night I preformed in the VIP section of this Bar on Broad Street. I didn’t know it at the time but there was a music producer and after I preformed he spoke to me and said he would

like to sign me. I was so happy I celebrated the whole night.Q: What’s different about you as an artist?Gemma: Well I’m unique not only my style but my voice is the main thing. Also, it’s going to be unique how I change the music industry.Q: How do you plan on doing that?Gemma: With my unique talent, determination and passion for music.Q: Who is your inspiration?Gemma: My mother, Lady Gaga as she’s unique like me and most of all my fans are my biggest inspiration as they mean so much to me.Q: Who would you like to collaborate with?Gemma: Erm...Lady Gaga and Lil Wayne as you can see two different styles of music.Q: What are your plans for the future?Gemma: Well I would like to be in a film, start my own clothing line and in the distant future have my own record label.Q: What can we expect?

Or maybe do something differ-ent I don’t know it’s about what I’m inspired by at the time.

Q: What’s new about your new album?Gemma: The style of music as I wanted to show my fans I’m not a 1 hit wonder and I do have variety.Q: Why may you loose fans?Gemma: It’s different to what I’m famous for and it’s different to mainstream contemporary music now. But I’m trying to make good music that’s not mainstream, mainstream.Q: Is this something you plan to continue for the future?Gemma: Well yes as I think it’s every artist goal but yeah. Q: How was the concert in Birmingham?Gemma: Concert was great. Birmingham was a great audience to perform before. They have so much energy and I really enjoyed it. I love per-forming at Birmingham I feel they understand me as an artist and they feel the importance.Q: Did you expect to have the concert sell out?Gemma: No not at all when I was told I was performing in a big venue I was a bit scared and worried thinking that its too big that many people wont come.

Q: How did you prepare yourself before performed?Gemma: Well I pray and thank god take deep breaths its more like an adrenaline rush rather nerves. It’s what I’m born to do I feel so comfortable on that stage there no nerves

especially when there’s a fab audience like Birmingham.Q: What is your favourite song from your new album?Gemma: Unpredictable is my favourite song as it represents me and it’s a song that we can all relate to in some way.Q: What’s it about?Gemma: It’s about a woman and how her life fitted in with a routine and she finds out her husbands cheating on her and life is unpredict-able.
