ABOUT HIS FETISH LIFE

Invincible have teamed up with Matt Spike to bring you some incredibly hot new content featuring PaulRBRCub. Shining the spotlight on one of the hottest plus size guys on the fetish scene, we bring you an exclusive interview about PaulRBRCub’s

experience working with Invincible, Matt Spike and his rubber journey from where it all began in the hopes that he’ll inspire

others to pursue their rubber dreams!

How did you get into rubber? I got started in kink because I’d hooked up with a few guys who had leather and were into BDSM so that got me curious. I started looking at leather and one day I saw rubber and I just had an instant attraction to it, I was hooked immediately and haven’t looked back.

When was the first time you wore rubber? I got my first gear in 2012 (a vest and matching shorts which I still have and wear).

What’s your favourite rubber colour? My favourite suit is red and I definitely wear that suit more than another. Most of my gear is black because it’s versatile, you can add colour with accessories like a harness, restraints or changing up a cod piece. Black rubber is also great as a starter as you can create so many looks from single pieces. I have bought different straps for my Fitbit (rubber of course) to match my different outfits to really finish off a look (and get my steps tracked). What’s your favourite Invincible product? That’s a hard one, I’m sure 90% of my rubber comes from you!! If I have to choose one item It has to be my red wrestling singlet, when I put it on I feel amazing, sexy and confident which is a great feeling. It is also very comfortable which makes longer wear easier and more satisfying.

What products do you use to care for your rubber (dress, shine & clean) and do you have any tips or tricks to get the perfect shine?I wish I had listened the community or the professionals as now I can consistently get the shine I want. It was years of practice for me to get a good shine on my gear, I spent too much time not shining well and wasted of a lot of shine. The way I see it is to get an amazing shine you need to take very good care of your gear and by this I mean good cleaning and storage. When shining I use a bucket with warm water, shine and spend around 5 minutes on each item making sure to move the item around so all surfaces get the shine. I have bought an extendable shower rail that I then put over the bath and let everything drip dry.

How do you store your garments? It depends on how often I’ll be using something, at the minute it’s not often so everything is cleaned, talced, individually bagged and stored in a drawer away from direct sunlight and moisture. When in more use I usually don’t talc and hang in my wardrobe cleaned in a suit bag (to avoid light, damp and fluff) ready to be shined for an event/session.

Are you missing the rubber scene at the moment? and how are you making up for it instead?I moved to London August 2020 for work and was ready to start a new chapter in Kink. I was excited to get to the backstreet and Rubbermen of London but NOPE! I did manage to get to the Christmas Fetish Cabaret at Zodiac London with a very good mate of mine LondonGearGuy which was some great camp fun.I think the lockdowns have been hard on a lot of people and we’re all looking forward to rebuilding the scene back to what it is. To make up for it I’ve just been doing little things here and there, I did a few weeks of rubber Friday’s after work, joined a few socials on Zoom and then had a Rubbery Christmas Day which involved lots of alcohol and food.I honestly cannot wait for a bit more normality and getting to go to events again, nothing can replace a hot sweaty club with hundreds of other kinksters but I guess it’s just making the best out the situation right now.

What advice would you give to any plus size guys wanting to try rubber for the first time? There is so much that can be said, I know when I started my kink journey I really worried about what people would think and say. I have since realised I was more worried about what I thought other people would think than what they actually thought.I was putting so much pressure on myself to look a certain way for other people; to be thinner, to be less hairy, to be more masculine and I realised that wasn’t me. I am still finding who I am in kink but it’s a journey, there is no right way or wrong way to do something. Just be confident in what you are doing and enjoy the ride. Why did you agree to shoot with Invincible?I would be lying if I said I have never thought about wanting to do a professional shoot for a brand. It has always been in the back of my mind that I don’t have the right look for it.The memory that sticks out in my mind is me telling myself “if I lose weight I might look at doing a professional shoot” (if RuPaul was here I’d be getting told to stop letting my inner saboteur get in the way).I realised how problematic that was and how it really supported the narrative that there is only way to do kink. When Paul called I did have to think about doing it as that voice was still in the back of my head but when I thought about why that voice was there It’s because the lack of representation of larger guys in kink and that is partly due to that voice a lot of us larger guys have thinking we cannot do it. Did you enjoy the shoot with Invincible?Going into it I had no idea what to expect as I’ve never done anything like it before, when I was a child I was extremely shy and would avoid photos and anything that involved an audience in anyway. When it came down to it I had so much fun, when in gear I am another person that has more confidence and once we got started and I got used to the shoot it felt like second nature. How did you find working with Matt Spike?Anyone that has worked with Matt (or even seen his work) will know that he is a creative genius. Matt takes his craft extremely serious but in a way that puts you at ease and captures great results, once we did the first couple of photos and I got to see some of the results I was in awe of what he captured which in turn really helped me push outside my comfort zone as I knew he would capture something amazing. How does it make you feel when you slip into your rubber?I feel like another person, I am able to drop that barrier and really be more authentically myself, during the shoot Matt saw this and really leaned into it, he described some of my poses to be what you see from a superhero. Rubber can really help transform you into that superhero you know you can be. I haven’t always looked at my body and thought I look amazing but when I get some rubber on that changes and I really embrace the change in myself.

I was putting so much pressure on myself to look like a certain

way for other people...
