It is a statutory requirement of Ofsted, under their Common Inspection Framework, to ensure that information on the use of the Primary PE and Sport Premium is available on your school website. One of the key purposes of putting information on the school website is to keep parents informed, so this information should be written in a format that is clear and easily accessible. We recommend that you upload the following template to your website to serve that purpose.

Sports week as well as delivering lunchtime activities in the Juniors and now the Infants.

Our Bronze Ambassadors went from strength to strength thanks to training from Bishop Challoner; not only did they set up a sports crew to find out more about what pupils want in PE and extra curricular activities, but they also organized a Y6 handball tournament and ran a weekly gymnastics club during the Summer Term.

PE assessment brought in line with other core subjects.

Use of the School Games Values to promote behaviour at lunchtimes.

Increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport – CPD.

Increased number of CPD sessions across the year.

All staff benefitted from working alongside our Secondary PE Specialist from Wheelers Lane, focusing on improving the children’s evaluation skills, use of tactics and the introduction of new sports such as handball. These were identified as common areas for improvement in Teacher’s action plans at the beginning of the year and by the

end of year audit, all teachers said that these sessions had improved their own teaching of PE and that they were using the many of the ideas gained in their own lessons.

The teacher’s audit also highlighted the impact of the coaching sessions delivered in partnership with Aston Villa, Kits Academy, and Bishop Challoner. 100% of teacher evaluations said that they had used ideas from the coaching sessions in their own practice. In pupil interviews they also said that they really enjoyed the coaching sessions as ‘when I started I wasn’t that good and then we had lessons and I got better.’ ‘PE is just a fun thing to do.

New online planning system, (The PE Hub) - all teachers said had made delivery of the new PE curriculum easier and helped improve their lessons. All pupils interviewed said that they enjoyed the different sports they played, especially the mix of sports like tennis, football, sprinting and throwing.
