KEEPING UP WITH THE ATHLETEBeing aware the athletes identity is only one part of the play. Knowing how they live, breathe, and experience life is a whole other field. But let’s be honest, the athlete is ever-changing and to keep up with them can be difficult with their intensive schedules and routines. That’s where we come in, helping you be the best fan is so important to us. As we would love to bring you the extended life of every athlete we could not hope to in just one issue.

This seasons star is Amar’e Stoudemire. His rigour is what keeps us motivated in every way. Not only is he an athlete but he also carries the title of actor, author, producer, motivational speaker and philanthropist. This renaissance man will continue to keep us on our toes so it’s important to catch him in this moment.

We could only imagine what it would be like to live his life due to the fact that he is more skilled then we will ever be. His endurance could never be matched by a fan but his emotional strength is what we hope fans can match. Keeping up with the athlete is only half the play because the responsibility that comes with being a fan requires you to always know what is going on in those athletes lives. This can only lead to higher success rates among athletes and the fans who care so deeply about them.

STRENGTH / AGILITY / ENDURANCE

Catching up with such a busy man was not easy but luckily Amar’e was able to make some time for us. We only got to ask one question though so we asked him the most important question possible: How do you do it!??? I mean we obviously know he is some sort of super human, right? Well as humble and amazing as Amar’e is he responded by saying, “I’m just a human who found his calling, it’s never been easy but as my late father would say,’Stay Tall and Talented’ which is tattooed right on my arm so I never forget.” Along with that candid story he also provided us with his intense morning routine featured on the right!

THE ART OF THE ATHLETE

From Tip Toes to Headstands- See how it’s done!

This week’s article was inspired by Odell Beckham’s outrageous catch in the 2014 game between the Cowboys and Giants! Unexplainable? I think not. To

every amazing and impossible football catch their are several key factors that explain to us why they worked. We will help you decode what made that catch

possible and showcase other jaw dropping football performances.

Head MovementsPointed Toe Leg Skewed

This play could have appeared unintentional at first glance but upon further inspection we found that the 49˚ angel at which his foot is held affected his entire core balance.

Tyree’s angeled head certainly played a huge role in him being able to catch this crazy pass. One he had practiced many times as a joke before having the opportunity to do it live.

For this pass to work, Tyree had to basically do the splits in mid air. Had he not been a gymnast the year before joining the NFL he would never have been able to complete this pass.

Mouth Diameter

Winged Arms

Parallel Feet

Tippy Toes

Tight Hands

Clenched Thighs

It can be crazy to think that the diameter you can open your mouth to could affect a perfect pass but by opening your mouth to a certain distance and letting out a specific amount of air anything is possible.

Opposed to having tight arms, Holmes choose to wing them out in a successful attempt to keep his opponent from having any chance to take the ball from him.

We all know a strong grip is a great thing in football but with the gloves they where it comes down to how tight and how long you can grip a ball for. During this pass Hayden held the ball for 2 minuets.

While his arms remain winged Homles thighs needed to remain tight and clenched in order to balance his body on just his tippy toes to complete his record breaking touchdown!

At a young age we all learned the importance of parallel lines. Looking at this play if his feet had not been parallel he would not have gained to proper distance from his opponent.

Having strong toes may not be something we think about as an essential part of sports, but without Holmes doing his toe workouts once a week this pass would have failed.

Firm Shoulders

Stretched Core

Princess Hand

Ballerina Toes

Aimed EyesCentered Abs

These pointed and firm shoulders remind us that in order to complete a catch you must outreach your arms to the highest degree possible.

As a child Beckham grew up watching the Britain Royals and perfected the Princess wave, as many children do. Without his childhood wave training this wouldn’t have been possible.

Beckham has the stretches we all crave to see! After years of rolling around on his back on an aerobics ball he was finally able to showcase his flexible abs!

His years of practice as a male ballerina were finally able to break through as he performed the basque, pas de so seamlessly no one even noticed!

Looking closely you will see Crabtree’s tight and centered abs being put to work. Upon affixing his center he was able to bring the ball safely into his groin.

Maintaining strong eye contact with the ball is obviously a must. In doing this Crabtree was able to put complete focus on the ball and completed the pass.

FAN OF THE MONTH

Paul Lukas

#1

Sports FanThe ultimate uniform informer, Paul Lukas knows whatʼs on the

up and up with ever uniform that ever existed!

Pictured below with a life size Lego statue of Kevin Garnett, Paul Lukas embodies what every sports fan should. He’s not just supporting the athlete but he’s creating a community of sports fanatics that will

Paul Lukas is what we all should aspire to be- Sports Informer’s fan of the month! We only feature the best of the best and it doesn’t get better than Paul. He is a true gem. Often times the categories of nerd and sports aren’t used together but Paul embodies what we like to call the Sports Nerd. His vigorous work on Uni Watch over the past 15 years is completely monumental. If you are unfamiliar with Uni Watch and are reading this magazine we would be surprised, but just in case you’re not we’ll let you in on the coolest uniform watch site that has ever existed.

In his own words Paul introduces the site at, “... a media project that deconstructs the finer points of sports uniforms in obsessive and excruciating detail. It has nothing to do with fashion — it’s about documenting and maintaining the visual history of sports design, and about minutiae fetishism as its own reward. For those who understand the pleasures of detail obsession, programmatic classification systems, information overload, and sports history, you’ve come to the right place.”. (If this sounds like something you’re interested in stop reading this article and go view the master piece Paul Lukas has created at www.Uni-watch.com) Upon reaching this site you will be bombard with years of documented uniform asthetics and it is without a doubt, awe-inspiring.

also be able to support the athletes. Creating a larger fan base and being able to continually provide them with the up to date information they want and need to be their version of the greatest sports fan is so important. Being a Sports Nerd is becoming more and more common because of the nerds need to bond with their sports enthused families. Paul’s contemporary sports blog allows access points for these incoming Sports Nerds to get involved in the analytical and aesthetic side sports has to offer! Without Paul who knows where these kids would end up!

THE ESSENTIAL SUPPORT SYSTEM

difference in an athletes live, though some of us will never get to see the affect we have.

That’s why sticking together with other fans who like who we like is so monumental. If you can facilitate a larger fan base for your team, the team might to better. However, there is no guarantee. Yet, is there ever a guarantee in life that anything will pay off? Well maybe, but here at Sports Informer we know that investing your life in the lives of other Athletes will pay off in its own way.

Never forget that your support matters and the greater you support the better you will be at helping other fans achieve a similar status. There are many levels to the sports fandom but our goal is to have everyone be the greatest fan. Next season we will be putting out a quiz so you can find out if you are one of the current greats or a soon to be great. Just for participating you will receive a badge of greatness for your efforts on becoming a great. So study your uniform colors and support your athletes so you will be prepared!

It’s not easy being the greatest sports fan in the world. The dedication you have to put in is never ending and often times your greatest reward is winning your fantasy football league. Being a fan is all about seeing things from a different perspective and being able to quickly skew your emotions. Not only is it important for you to support the athletes playing but you also need to support the other fans around you.

Without the athlete there would be no fans and without the fans the athlete might not be doing as well. Our impact on the athletes we follow can be so small that they never notice us but all the while it is so essential to know that we are only made important by them. We need to place all of our lives in these athletes because they are all we have. It is also ideal to have a family who supports the same athletes and teams you do. This is the best and sometimes only way of bonding with your family. If they aren’t for you they are against you and it is important to keep them on your side. We all have the potential to make a
