Aryan Tripathi of Classes VIII A won a
Gold medal in under 13 category in Individual
Kumite & one Silver medal in Individual
Kata Event in 8th Renchi Cup National
Karate Championship held at Panchmari
Madhya Pradesh.
Utkarsh Arya of class VIII D won 2 Bronze
medals in the under 13 category in
individual Kata and Kumite boys' events at 7th
SKFI National Karate Championship held
at Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh.
Karate is a martial art that originated in Japan.
The main Idea is to battle and defend by using
defensive and counter offensive body
movements including punches and kicks. To
show case the same, 6 students from DPS
Kolar Road participated in SGFI District
Level Karate competition held at Shree
Aurbindo School, Bhopal.

Asmi Jain of class X C, Rainy Sharma of
class-VIII B, were selected for under 14 Inter
District Girls Football Tournament (State
Level) organized by MPFA in Balaghat.
FOOTBALL (SIARAM CUP)
DPS Kolar Football team emerged winner of
the (Under-17) SIARAM cup organised by
Mansarovar Global University, Bhopal. Man
of the match (Final match) and Man of the
Tournament was awarded to Yashasv Malviya
(X A). Golden Boot was awarded to Yash
Hirwani (X C) and Best goal keeper was
awarded to Nakul Lohani (XII B).
West Zone CBSE Football Cluster U-17
DPS Kolar students once again showcased
their exceptional talent and brought laurels to
the school by bagging Silver medal in the nail-
biting final match of West Zone CBSE
Football Cluster U-17 Category On 8 Oct.
Nakul Lohani (XII B) was declared as the
Best Goal Keeper of the tournament.
Blazing a Glorious Trail Ayushi Katulkar of
Class VIII participated in the State Level
SGFI Football (Girls U-14) Tournament

YOGA
Yoga is India's gift to the world. It is a
passport for wellness.
In an endeavour to participate actively in the
International Yoga Day on 21st June, the
students of Delhi Public School Kolar Road
got a chance to participate in Mass Yoga
Programme with honourable Chief Minister
Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan at Lal Parade
Ground. Students exhibited various asanas of
yoga and enumerated their benefits and
explained in detail how yoga can help
miraculously in the stressful life of modern
days.
Bal Rang State Level Yoga Competition
Vaishnavi Singh Parihar of Class IX won Gold
medal in Bal Rang State Level Yoga
Competition held at Indira Ghandhi National
Manav Sangrahlay Bhopal.
At SGFI YOGA District Level competition,
seven students participated from DPS Kolar
Road in which Vaishnavi Singh was selected
for the next level (Division Level).

In Division SGFI Chess Competition
organised at Govt. Girls High Sec. School,
Govindpura Bhopal, Paridhi Shrivastav of
class VIII A and Devansh Panthi VI A bagged
First position.
DPS Kolar captured the limelight again in
'Bhopal Chess Festival 2018 competition' organised by Academy of chess Education,
Bhopal. Devansh Panthi of Class VI clinched
the gold medal and Aditi Gharwal of Class IV
won Bronze medal in the competition.
Aditi Gharwal brought laurels to the school
by clinching the First position in (under 9)
GM International Chess Tournament held
at Bhopal.
Devansh Panthi of Class VI secured 3rd
Position in the Bhopal International
Grandmaster's Chess Tournament 2018. He
also received the cash prize of Rs 8000 for
the same.
Devansh Panthi of DPS Kolar, participated in
MP State Sub- Junior (U-15 Boys and Girls)
FIDE Rating Chess Championship which
was organized from 26 April to 28 April at
Indore. He scored 6 points out of 8 rounds.
NATIONAL SPORTS DAY
'Champions aren't made in the gyms.
Champions are made from something they
have deep inside them a desire, a dream, a
vision' Muhammad Ali.
The National Sports Day was celebrated on
29th August, 2018 at DPS Kolar Road with a
lot of enthusiasm. The celebration commenced
with the speech throwing light on the
importance of the National Sports Day,
followed by it was the musical rendition by the
students. Further emphasizing the theme there
was a Nukkad Natak staged by the students of
class IX.
The performances not only entertained the
audience but also spread awareness about what
role sports play in an individual's life.
Principal, Ms. Vandana Dhuper, paid her
tributes to one of the greatest field hockey
players of all time and urged the students to
give priorities to sports and physical activities.
Various activities were organised for the entire
day in the school.
The School also organized a street play,
highlighting the theme “Sports Fervour” on
29th August, 2018 at DB City Mall at
4:00p.m. Students of Classes VI to IX
participated in the Street Play. Tributes were
also paid to the winners of the Asian Games so
far.The play showcased the various benefits of
engaging in sports. Apart from physical
growth, sports foster competitive spirit,
sportsmanship, confidence and mental growth.
The play was immensely appreciated by the
audience and the efforts of the students were
lauded.
CRICKET
SGFI Cricket
Kritika Dubey Class XI, Shailina Singh Class
X & Ashvi Patel Class VIwere selected in
Girls Under-19 Category out of 40 girls from
different schools across the city. In the Under
19 boys category, Lavin Mandhani Class XI,
Rohit Soni Class XI & Rajat Chauhan Class
XI were selected out of 80 students from
different schools at Division Level.
Under 17 SGFI
Ace cricketer Shreya Nagar of Class IX,
member of the Under 17 SGFI State team
brought laurels to the school by getting four
wickets in 3 matches.

Women's Under 19 T-20 State Cricket
Tanishka Sen of Class XI was selected in
Women's Under 19 T-20 State Cricket
Team of Puducherry by BCCI.
Bhopal Division Under - 19 SGFI Team
Lavin Mandhani, the shining
sports star, student of class XI of
DPS Kolar, has been selected as
the captain of Bhopal Division
under- 19 SGFI Team for the
Inter - State Cricket Team which is going to be held in Indore.
T - 20 Cricket Cup
DPS Kolar reached semi finals of T-20 Cricket
Cup held at Iconic School on 11 Oct2018.DPS
Kolar beat Billabong School in Iconic T-20
Cricket Cup by 10 wickets.
JSWS cricket team won the Corporate Cricket
Tournament by defeating Officers Eleven by
28 runs. Mr. Sumit Taneja of DPS Kolar was
declared as the best player of the finals.
BASKETBALL
SGFI Basketball Division Level
Vaishanavi Varma of class X C was selected
for SGFI Basketball Division Level
Tournament in the under 17 category. She
was also selected for SGFI State Level in
Girls basketball U 17 team and the team also
settled for not less than Silver Medal in the
championship.
Mont fort Cup Basketball Tournament
DPS Kolar girls Under 14 category proved to
be Champions as they won Mont fort Cup
Basketball Tournament. Vaishnavi Verma of
Class X was selected as Player of the
tournament in girls segment. Boys in U-14
category were runner-up.
GYMNASTICS
Sanskriti Parihar from
Class VIII–A participated
in SGFI Gymnastics
Nationals in Agartala
Ishita Arya of Class V
won U-11 girls title in Lal
parade sports Bhopal in
Open Badminton Championship. She
received a gold medal and cash prize of Rs.
5000 and was declared most promising
player of tournament.
