RELATED STORY: Australian Open: Kyrgios pulls out fiveset win over Seppi RELATED STORY: Australian Open: Tomic out in straight sets to Berdych Australian Open: Net Rush - day seven Updated Mon 26 Jan 2015, 8:33am PHOTO: Nick Kyrgios is the first teenager to reach two major quarterfinals since Roger Federer. (AFP: Paul Crock) Well that was quite something. Andreas Seppi was perilously close to being the man who killed Bambi, dug him up, then killed him again. He'd dumped Roger Federer out of the tournament and, at two sets to love up, he was about to send Nick Kyrgios our Nick for a long walk off a short plank. He would not have been a popular man. Then it changed, quick as a flash. Kyrgios clicked up a gear and the third set was gone, in 25 frenetic minutes. The rest of the match was a blur of flashing winners, tossed racquets, thumping serves and howls of joy and anguish. It was what will soon come to be known as textbook Kyrgios. Gosh it was fun. The 19yearold plays tennis like an overexcited kid. He's back ready to pound down another serve before the previous ball has hit the back fence. He makes Fast4 seem like a lazy game of barefoot bowls. Kyrgios lost some of the crowd with his antics, but he won more than he lost. He also won the match, and everyone loves a winner. The Kyrgios match came soon after his compatriot, Bernard Tomic, was monstered by Tomas Berdych on Margaret Court Arena. The differences between Tomic and Kyrgios on court have always been clear, but last night they were stark. The Australians are chalk and cheese ... chalk and very brightly coloured, strongtasting cheese. Tomic was sedate and languid against Berdych. He was so far back in the court during some rallies that he could've picked the linesman's pocket. MAP: Melbourne 3000
