New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame NBSHF
Ringette New Brunswick and Fredericton Youth Ringette are thrilled to announce that the 2013 Canadian Ringette Championships will be held in Fredericton from March 31 – April 6, 2013. Up to 50 teams from across Canada will converge on the capital city to compete in the U16, U19 and National Ringette League levels. All games will be played at the Grant-Harvey complex as well as the Willie O’Ree Arena. Additional events will be taking place in conjunction with the Championships to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the invention of the sport of Ringette. A true Canadian sport, ringette was developed by Sam Jacks in Thunder Bay, ON in 1963. It is now played by tens of thousands of people in Canada, and in several other countries around the world.
Baseball NB is proud to announce its first ever Pitch, Hit and Learn Baseball Camp, which is a one day event focusing on skill develop-ment in the areas of pitching and hitting. This camp is geared toward players from the ages of 9 through 13. The camp will take place on Wednesday July 25th, 2012 in Fredericton at Royals Field. It will run from 9:00am to 4:00pm with half of the day focusing on pitching techniques and skills which will be lead by none other than New Brunswick’s own Jason Dickson, former Major Leaguer, MLB All-star and Olympian. The final half of the camp will be capitalizing on hitting techniques and drills lead by two times NB Senior League All-star and 2011 NB Senior League Batting Champion, Dave Barr. All players wishing to attend our Pitch, Hit and Learn Camp must pre-register by completing a registration form provided below with a $10 registration fee payable to Baseball NB on or before Friday July 20th, 2012. RINGETTE NB athletes awarded SCHOLARSHIP Ringette NB is and has always been very proud and supportive of all its mem-
bership. Through this wonderful sport, dedicated athletes, officials and vol-
unteers have excelled. The sport has also permitted them to acquired skills
and qualities that serve them on different life experiences, to become active
members in our society and even leaders. Based on this, Ringette NB is proud
to offer a scholarship program to its members. With this scholarship pro-
gram, RNB is able to further support its members; especially the young
adults who will be graduating and moving on to bigger challenges with
promising beginnings and a very bright future ahead of them. That being
said, for the 2011-12 scholarship awards, RNB is very proud to announce the
2 recipients of the amount of $1,032.50 /each and the 2 recipients of the
amount of $250.00/each. They are: Julie Auffrey – from the Memramcook
Ringette Association; Cassandra Davidson – from the Riverview Ringette
Association; Chantal King- from the Atlantic Attack; Annie Gautreau- from
the Atlantic Attack. Congratulations as well to Cassandra Davidson of River-
view for winning the Agnes Jacks scholarship and Mallory Ross of Miramichi
for winning the Cara Brown scholarships awarded by Ringette Canada for the
amount of $1000 each.

ORGANIZATIONAL UPDATE | Football New Brunswick Football New Brunswick has appointed a new President; Lisa Harlow. Lisa is 27 years old and works in Human Resources. She has been involved with football for 16 years and brings experience from coaching, playing, admini-stration, and officiating. She was a part of Team Canada that brought home a silver medal at the IFAF World Championships in 2010. Prior to becoming President, Lisa served on the Board of Directors for four years. Coming into this role, Lisa's main goals are to increase the number of opportunities for coaching development and program offerings, as well as participation in all disciplines of football. Olivier Eddie is the new Executive Director. He joins us with 7 years of playing and coaching experience at Mount Allison University and is currently an MBA Sports Management candidate at UNB. He is passionate about growing and improving the football experience and accessibility across the province. We also welcome Justin Richard and Emma Hicks as Program Managers. Justin is a born and raised resident of Sackville, New Brunswick. He has over 10 years of playing experience and is currently a CIS linebacker; he also has many years of coaching experience through camps. Justin is studying at Mount Alli-son University. Emma is a Fredericton resident and she brings a great back-ground in Physical Education teaching. She is also a talented athlete as she currently plays linebacker in the Women's football league. Emma is a Master's candidate in Kinesiol-ogy at UNB.

U18 TEAM NEW BRUNSWICK GOING TO THE CANADA CUP | Football New Brunswick Provincial coaches have selected 40 players to be a part of the U18 team. Af-
ter playing exhibition games with Nova Scotia and Quebec, this team will
compete in the Football Canada Cup (FCC) in London, Ontario from July 14-
23, 2012. Seven provinces will be represented at the tournament this year to
compete for the under-18 national tackle football championships. The FCC is
the premier pre-university football tournament in Canada, with CIS Rookie of
the Year recipients and future CFL and NFL players coming through the pro-
gram. New Brunswick has not sent a team to this tournament since 2002, and
we are pleased to be able to offer this opportunity to our young elite athletes
once again.
