What is ArtEX

ArtEX is a collaboration of art. This includes an art exhibition, live painting and music. Our team has worked together to create this event and will be working over the next four months to make this a success, raising the most we can for “YOTS”.

Our aim is to attract people from the age of 18 - 35 years old, Tafe students, Art and Music lovers. We will targeting these attendees via Website, Posters, Social Media and word of mouth.

We will be including activities to allow the attendees to be involved and to get creative on the night also, with areas covered in paper and buckets of markers around, so the room will be covered in drawings and feedback for everyone to see. There will be prizes, silent auction of the live painting, catering and bar service throughout the evening. Our catering will be food truck/street style, serving mini burger sliders, mini hot dogs and pizza. .

About

Tipple bar

Fancy a Tipple? Surry Hills latest offering on Chalmers street blends old world charm and

service with new age pop. The latest addition to what seems an ever expanding small bar

market in Surry Hills finds itself away from the congestion of Crown Street bars and

restaurants for the discerning to search out and reap the rewards of their journey.

“What’s in a name? Tipple having Old English origins simply means ‘to drink’ and you can

certainly do that here with the bar having a ‘tantalizing tipples of the mixed variety’ cocktail

list, a wine list entitled ‘these are grape tipples a great play on words and as a James Squire

Lead bar you’ll find an array of Squires craft on tap including quarterly Mad Brewers releases

straight from the tap.

The bistro offering is compared with most small bar offerings. Think gastro pub food mixed

with ‘trend’ street food offerings. The bistro services lunch &dinner 6 days a week. The fit out

comprises of distressed walls and furniture all cleverly put together with a pop mural taking

over 2 walls by Australian Pop artist Ben Frost.

About

Surry hills

The inner Sydney suburb of Surry Hills has long been a melting pot that sums up Australia's magical mix of cultures, heritage and entrepreneurial spirit. Next to trains and buses at Sydney's busy Central Station, Surry Hills is close to the Sydney City hustle and bustle. You will find a mixture of business offices as well as residential buildings as this area is much in demand because of its proximity to the city. The high-density zone was once known as a slum. Nowadays the main image is "chic" and "metro" but Surry Hills still covers the whole socio-economic range from poor to wealthy and is known for a strong sense of community. You may spot a television celebrity or business tycoon stocking up at a neighborhoods store, chatting at a sidewalk café, soaking in the atmosphere of the hotels and restaurants, or browsing the merchandise at the retail outlets and markets. Many will enjoy simply strolling down the narrow streets and imagining the colorful past, perusing signs and plaques that stamp new sophistication on renovated terrace houses. You may even window shop for luxury cars, relax in the tranquil pockets of park and exercise your mind on works of leading artists and playwrights. Surry Hills, Sydney, is on the CBD fringe like Chinatown, Kings Cross, Potts Point and Glebe but will keep winning hearts with its special charm.
