Dear Community Business Leader,
Pasco Kids First is excited to announce their 9th Annual Pasco Kids First Family Fun Day, to be held on
Saturday, November 5, 2016 in Sims Park, New Port Richey. This event is designed to bring together a
place for families to have fun, while learning about the different programs in our county that are in
place to keep kids and families safe. For the past eight years, this event was a huge success, bringing
together more than 2,000 families, and we are once again looking forward to bringing this community
favorite event on November 5th.
This year, we are once again seeking support from our business community to put this event on for the
families in Pasco and Hernando Counties, and beyond. We recognize that you are asked repeatedly to
help support various activities and events in the community. We think you will find this event to be
especially important because of the impact that it has on our area families and the numerous benefits
this event offers for your company.
Enclosed, is our sponsorship packet which includes an overview of our event, copies of previous event
promotion, sponsorship levels, and an application for sponsorship. These sponsorship levels show some
of the benefits that our sponsors receive by being a part of our event. Please note that while we have
provided an outline for each sponsorship level, that each level can also be tailored to meet your

Pasco Kids First Family Fun Day

Taking place in Sims Park, New Port Richey, the 9th Annual Pasco Kids First Family
Fun Day brings together activities for the entire family to enjoy, while promoting the
health and wellness of families in Pasco County. This year’s events include a Family
Fitness Walk around Orange Lake sponsored by the Pasco County Health Department,
K-9 Demonstrations by the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, New Port Richey Fire
Department trucks, DJ, Games and Arts and Crafts (free), Vendors, Inflatable Activities
($2.00 all you can play all day wristbands), and much more. The object of Family Fun
Day is to create a fun and safe environment for families to come and participate in a
variety of activities together in an outdoor setting. From physical activities to arts and
crafts, interaction with first responders to music, this event strives to give families an
opportunity to participate in activities together.

ABOUT PASCO KIDS FIRST
Pasco Kids First is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention, assessment, and treatment of child abuse and neglect. Our mission is to keep kids safe, strengthen families through empowerment and enhance our community by preventing child abuse and healing children from trauma.
Pasco Kids First, in partnership with other community agencies, provide thorough, accurate assessments and services to children and their families by utilizing a multi-disciplinary approach. Through community education and early intervention, we promote healthy and nurturing family environment for all of our children.
Pasco Kids First is the parent agency of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Pasco ade up of the Child Protection Team and Trauma Treatment Team, the Healthy Families Pasco-Hernando Program and The Sexual Assault Victim Exam Program.
Healthy Families
Healthy Families is a voluntary home visiting program for expectant parents and families of newborn. In addition we provide a positive parent support program. We work to build parenting skills, promote parent-child relationships and bonding, healthy child development, families to other services in the community assisting families to become self-sufficient.
By The Numbers (2015-2016):
100% of children in the program have been linked with a medical provider since joining the program and received proper immunizations since joining the program.
98% of participating families are free from incidents of abuse or neglect since joining the program.
86% of participants improved their self-sufficiency
Child Protection Team
The Child Protection Team is a team of abuse specialists who assist in the assessment of abuse and neglect. It is a network of doctors, nurses, social workers, psychologists, and other professionals offering services to alleged victims of abuse.
The Child Protection Team provides medical services and exams to identify physical findings of abuse, neglect, or sexual abuse. We conduct forensic interviews and psychological assessments of children to further document reports of abuse. In addition, we offer counseling to children and families who have been identified as victims of abuse, and offer community education and awareness activities related to child abuse and neglect.

Trauma Treatment Team
The Trauma Treatment Team of Pasco and Hernando Counties is designed to ensure the child victim’s immediate safety, assist the child and family in coping with the trauma, and help prevent further incidents of abuse. It is our belief that all families, no matter how damaged, have strengths that we seek to build upon through specialized therapeutic services.

This year’s Family Fun Day was widely attended by families from throughout the entire county.
According to estimates by the City of New Port Richey Police Officer in attendance, and others
observing the event, this year’s Family Fun Day drew more than 2,500 people (flow) into Sims
Park.
Below are some event statistics from Family Fun Day 2014.
Advertising / Marketing:
This year, Family Fun Day received promotion in the Tampa Bay Times Weekend Section,
Tampa Tribune Friday Extra, Suncoast News, Pasco Times, and Pasco Tribune. In addition,
the event was listed on the Community Calendar for Bay News 9, West Pasco Chamber of
Commerce, TBO.com, University of South Florida, Tampa Bay Event Calendar, Eventbrite,
WTSP (Channel 10), ABC Action News (Channel 28), My Fox Tampa Bay, Spirit FM, Joy FM,
Hits 106, and the online event calendars for the Tampa Bay Times, Tampa Tribune, and
Suncoast News Community Calendar. Finally, all event information and activities were listed on
a Facebook page designed specifically for the event.
In addition to the media coverage, we distributed over 14,000 fliers to local schools, businesses,
and individuals. Next year we anticipate sending fliers out to more schools. By getting these
fliers directly in the hands of the kids, we saw an increase in the number of kids that attended.
Surveys:
At this year’s event, 135 attendees filled out the event survey. The number of attendees listed
on these surveys was 510. According to research, only 10-20% of event attendees fill out
surveys they attend. The breakdown of ages of the children were: Age 1-5: 50.9%; Age 6-10:
30.8%; Age 11-15: 8.5%; Age 16+: 9.8%
The breakdown of where attendees found information regarding the event is as follows:
newspaper – newspaper – 13; online media – 34; flyers (including schools) – 22; television and
radio – 3; other (including word of mouth and street signs) – 56. (In 2013: the breakdown of
where attendees found information regarding the event is as follows: 25; street signs – 12;
online media – 26; flyers – 27; television and radio – 5; other (miscellaneous) – 55)
The overall impression of the event was that it was a fun and family friendly. Other impressions
were that the walk around Orange Lake and the Bike Rodeo were huge hits. Additionally, the
activities provided by the boy scouts were received very positively by ages 5 and up. Finally,
the inflatables and DJ received several positive comments. Suggestions included asking
vendors to provide activities for younger children (age 2 – 4).
Activities:
Vendor Participation:
This year, Family Fun Day had 17 vendors/sponsors at the event, each of which
had activities for kids to participate in. Some did games, some did crafts, all had
a great time.
Two food vendors provided food to event attendees.
In addition, this year, City of New Port Richey Fire Department and Police
Department K-9 Unit participated at this event and provided activities and/or
demonstrations. Additionally, Safe Routes to School conducted several bicycle
rodeos and gave out bike helmets and the Boy Scots had 300 children participate
in their zipline and ropes activities.
Inflatables:
The committee decided to keep the cost of wristbands to participate in the
inflatable activities at $2.00 per child with 255 children participate.
Health Department Health Walk:
In 2012, 157 kids participated in the Health Department’s Health Walk. This is a
decrease compared to the previous year. The total expected number of
participates in the health walk, including kids and parents is 225. The total
expected number of participates in the health walk, including kids and parents is
400.
Volunteers:
In 2014, Family Fun Day had approximately 60 volunteers between planning and day of event
activities. Those volunteers logged approximately 400 hours to make Family Fun Day 2014 a
success.

Community Favorite Event Scheduled to Return in November.
New Port Richey, FL - Pasco Kids First is excite hhy6d to announce that their 8th
Annual
Family Fun Day is scheduled to take place at Sims Park and Orange Lake on Saturday,
November 1, 2014. The event will run from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and will be full of activities
for the entire family to enjoy. Presented by Pasco Kids First, this year’s Family Fun Day
combines good old fashioned fun while promoting the health and wellness of today’s family.
“We are very excited that our annual Family Fun Day celebration is approaching,” states Rick
Hess, Executive Director of Pasco Kids First, the organization who coordinates and hosts the
event. “This year we have added some new activities for our kids and families, and many of the
traditional activities from past Family Fun Day events will be taking place as well.”
The idea of Family Fun Day is to promote a healthy family from the inside out is why Pasco
Kids First partners with such groups as the Pasco County Health Department, Safe Kids Safe
Routes to School, the Boy Scouts of America, the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, and many other
safety groups to bring this event to the community.
Pasco Kids First assists in the protection of Pasco County children from the devastating effect of
child abuse. In partnership with other community agencies, Pasco Kids First provides thorough,
accurate assessments and services to children and their families by utilizing a multi-disciplinary
approach. Through community education and early intervention, Pasco Kids First promotes a
healthy and nurturing family environment for all children.

Vendor and sponsor opportunities are still available for this year’s Family Fun Day event.
Vendor spaces are $100 for for-profit businesses and organizations, and $75 for non-profits.
Sponsorship levels range from $250 up to $5,000 for the presenting sponsorship. “Sponsors and
vendors are what make our event a success,” states Hess. “We appreciate all of our vendors and
sponsors that have been with us at our event over the years and look forward to having new
vendors and sponsors at this year’s event.”

component of the event will include the advocate as the presenting sponsor. Several opportunities for

Day, we have approximately 100 volunteers that we provide snacks and beverages for. This sponsorship
is crucial for us to be able to provide beverages and snacks to those who help with our event. Our
Volunteer Hospitality Sponsor will receive their name on all fliers generated for Family Fun Day. In
addition, to increase exposure for our supporters, they will have the opportunity to have a booth on site,
and can provide the event with a banner to be displayed for added exposure. There is only one
sponsorship available for Volunteer Hospitality.
