THE FACES OF GIRLS ON THE RUN UTAH
SPONSORSHIP PACKET 2016
DEAR FRIENDS,The faces of Girls on the Run Utah tell the story of how we are building positive change in a powerful and meaningful way.
2015 was a remarkable year. We delivered our program to 1,400 girls at 100 schools across six counties in Utah. 300 coaches created a culture of compassion and devoted over 20,000 volunteer hours. Girls on the Run Utah is committed to quality programming for girls. We provide life-changing experiences to girls as well as the coaches delivering the program.
Our Utah council provided over $100,000 in financial assistance to serve girls in need. In turn our girls planned and executed over 100 unique community service projects. We are creating engaged individuals who contribute to society as a whole.
Girls on the Run is a 501c3 non-profit after-school youth development program for girls 3rd-8th grade. Girls on the Run provides a safe and supportive climate where girls have the opportunity to think critically and make informed decisions. As the girls complete the lessons and prepare to participate in the season-ending 5k celebration, they are learning social, behavioral and emotional skills that will last them for a lifetime.
We are honored to serve this organization and are grateful to the families, volunteers, partners and donors who share our commitment of bringing health and wellness to our community. In 2016 Girls on the Run Utah will serve 1,800 girls across seven counties, providing $145,000 in scholarships for underserved girls to participate in our program. Join us by investing in our future and discovering new faces of Girls on the Run.
WITH GRATITUDE,Heidi Morton Executive Director, Girls on the Run Utah

ONE OF THE MANY FACES OF GIRLS ON THE RUN!
MY NAME IS LILA, I AM 9 YEARS OLD, I AM A GIRL ON THE RUN.
I HAVE LEARNED THREE THINGS during Girls on the Run.
One, I learned how to be kind to myself and kind to others.
Two, I learned how to help my community.
My GOTR group helped the Burn Unit at the University of Utah Hospital by giving them stuffed animals for the children with special notes of encouragement. We also gave gifts
to the janitors at our school because they are not recognized very often.
We gave them baskets with gift cards, lotion, flowers and little gadgets.
Third, by running my 5K I learned that,
“YOU CAN DO IT!”.
HERE ARE TWO WAYS YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE TO A YOUNG GIRL’S SUCCESS!
