Challenge.
General Race Information- Annual student-led race in Raleigh, NC.- To complete the Krispy Kreme Challenge, competitors begin at the
NC State Bell Tower, run 2.5 miles to the Krispy Kreme store onPeace Street, eat 1 dozen doughnuts, and run 2.5 miles back to the
Bell Tower —all in under one hour.- Organized, planned, and executed by N.C. State students.- Increased from 10 participants in 2004 to nearly 7,500 in 2011. (86%
from NC, 14% out of state)- ESPN sent a reporter to cover and run the race in 2009.- Named the “most difficult road race in the country” by ESPN on
Sports Center.- Ranked number 1 in the “54 Things to do at NC State” list

- The Krispy Kreme Challenge benefits the North Carolina Children’s
Hospital, donating $122,000 in 2011 and over $247,000 in total. About the 2012 Krispy Kreme Challenge
- Race Date: February 4, 2012- Maximum capacity of 7,700 runners expected- Extensive online promotion to Triangle area running community- Extensive pre-event and race day coverage. Last year, the race was
featured on ESPN, Runner’s World Magazine, Good Morning
America, and local newspapers, TV channels, and radio shows.

Additional Information
$500 to sponsor a Race Course Turn (“This turn sponsored by…”) This year, we will be going with “green” race packets that are electronic. All promotional
materials should be provided in a .pdf format. If you wish to distribute paper materials,there is an option to distribute them at check-in.
Race entries are a $25 value to non-students. In-Kind donations are also welcome and will be taken into consideration as cash
equivalents towards sponsorship. Some options are providing water for race day or prizes for top finishers. Please send inquiries to [email protected] the subject line “In-Kind Donation”.
Company will need to provide a low resolution logo for website use and a high resolutionlogo for printed material.
