About the DEPARTMENT

The Department of Management Stud-ies (DoMS) was

founded in the year 2004 to combine the Management Education and Research programme launched in 2001. During the one and half decade of its existence, DoMS has grown tremen-dously and is now recog-nized by peers across the globe as being one among the finest academic contrib-utors towards management education.

The alumni of DoMS con-tinue to stamp their high value, through the funda-mental principle of “Quiet Excellence Demonstrated”. In Conjunction with a social cause, several students and corporates par-ticipate enthusias-tically in a marathon organized as a part of Samanvay, which hap-pens inside IIT Campus. It is a major attraction and pro-motional opportunity for the cause at hand. With increas-ing need for awareness about mental well-being, last year’s marathon, Run For Mann, fo-cused on creating awareness for it.

CONSULARIUM - It is a consulting event that tests a

participant’s ability to think strategically and find the best

solution. The challenge could be related to any field of

management. Participants will be expected to come up with

optimal and feasible solutions. Just like the game of chess,

proceed tactfully and strategically to strike a checkmate.

SYNERGIA - This event is about bringing the right Human

Resouce manager persona in the participants. It tests the

ability of participants to comprehend the people behaviour,

individual dynamics & organizational culture and emerging

triumphant in providing solutions to the challenges posed

in these areas.

KRUNCH - This event is for the people who have appetite

for some number crunching data. Apply your knowledge

of analytics and sharpen your modelling skills at our

business fest Samanvay! We pride ourselves on fostering

an atmosphere of ongoing learning for those seeking to

constantly enhance their capabilties and knowledge.

BUZZAR - This event challenges the participants to identify

what is done by the pioneers in marketing, put their wits

in practice to blog what they would do for research, build

promotional strategies and design campaigns. It will aim

to provide solutions for cataclysmic problem which will fuel

one’s passion to come up with new strategies.

OPTIO - The event is aimed at challenging the participants

to use their theoretical knowledge in tackling real world

problems. The preliminary quiz would ensure basic operations

knowledge of the participants. The case study would require

application of a myriad of skills that are prerequisites in the

complex world riddled with creative disruption.

EVENTSSkypixel - This event rides on the social media wave that

our world is currently swimming in. The participants will be

tasked with clicking pictures that align with our Samanvay

theme. The more creative, the better. The submissions will be

online via social media platforms - Facebook and Instagram

using the hashtag we provide.
