Introduction
Thank you so much for choosing to support SPLIT. This pack is designed to provide you with all the information and support you need to organise a safe and successful fundraising event.
We are always looking for schools to support us because school fundraising is not only a very effective means of raising vital funds but it is also a great way to raise awareness of the work of SPLIT.
Schools play a vital role in SPLIT’s fundraising and the pupils, staff and parents come up with some brilliant and imaginative ideas.
SPLIT is a small national charity which supports children with liver disease and those requiring liver and / or intestinal transplantation and their families. Unlike many larger charities we provide financial and practical help directly to families in need and support education and research initiatives to improve knowledge and care for patients.

Ideas to help you get started
Sponsored Silence
Why not take part in a class or school wide ‘Big Silence’.
Themed Dress Down Day
Dress down days are easy and simple to organise and fund for the children to take part in. Ask for a donation from all the children to take advantage of the dress down day. It is a great way to raise funds. Why not add a theme to the day to make it more interesting and fun to see what everyone will dress as.
Some themed ideas could be:
Cartoon Character Day Harry Potter Day Pyjama Day Film Character Day

Get your friends, family and neighbours to sponsor you to stay quiet while at school. How long can you manage?
Fun Run, Walk or Cycle
Stage a Concert/Show
Concerts are a great way to involve the whole school as well as pupils, families and friends. There is a huge scope for ideas for example pantomime, talent shows, musicals and plays.

Why not complete a run, walk or cycle in the school grounds or at the local park. This can be made more interesting by getting everyone to dress up or even have an obstacle course. Ask family and friends to sponsor you for taking part.

Sponsorship
Gift AidGift Aid provides donors with the opportunity to increase the value of their donations to charity. As
long as they are taxpayers, we can reclaim from the Inland Revenue the basic rate tax paid on their gifts, boosting donations by 25%. A gift of £10.00 from a donor would therefore give SPLIT £12.50.
