th Aug: Capacity Building Workshop on Movement – “Dance.” Dr Khanna discussed the teaching formats and did an in

: Parents and therapists attended a talk on “Bemer Therapy” conducted by Dr Meeta Bali in School from 11am-
12.30pm. BEMER therapy optimizes the body’s own natural vitality. It is a revolutionary safe technology from Germany
that increases blood flow and oxygen by 30% in just 8 minute sessions. Detoxifies and regenerates cells while one sleeps

July: Parents of students from Gr I, II & III attended a year round sports training programme called the Young Athlete
Programme (YAP). This programme is specially designed for the junior students, in order to develop their basic skills of
sports activities, through gross motor and fine motor skills. The programme was from 9.30am-11.30am

th July: One student attended the National Coaching Camp for Netball in Karnal, Haryana
12th
July: One student was selected for Badminton by SOB State which was held at D’Monte Park Recreation Centre in
Bandra

Aug: 15 students participated in the 2016 Swimming State Games at
PMHS Bath & Boat Club, Charni Road, Mumbai from 12pm-4pm.
Our students did extremely well: 13 students won 17 medals: 6 Gold, 7 Silver & 4
Bronze.
Congratulations to our deserving students and our hard working coach!

Aug: Our coach, Rajashri Ghosalkar and 2 students attended the Athletic
National Coaching & Training Camp organized by Special Olympics Bharat at
Anantpur, AP

th Aug: Our student won a Gold medal for Bocce doubles competition at the Bocce (Male) National Games held in
Patna, Bihar
30th
-31st
Aug: 8 students participated in MYAS (Ministry of Youth &
Affairs Sports) for athletic events at Kandivili Sports Ground. They
won a total of 14 medals: 4 Gold, 7 Silver and 3 Bronze in various
events. Congratulations students and Coach, Rajashri, for this
brilliant performance!

Competitions 5
th Aug: 14 students between the ages of 12-18 years participated in the Splash Art Competition, an art event for 98
differently abled children, organized by Secure Giving in aid of Concern India Foundation. The event was held at
Billabong High International School, at Malad W from 10am to 2pm. Splash is an initiative which encourages the artistic
ability of the child and gives space for creative freedom amongst the children who do not have too many opportunities
to participate in competitions of this kind. Our students did splendidly – there were 10 winners: 5– 1st
prizes, 2 – 2nd
prizes and 3- 3rd
prizes in the mild, moderate and severe categories
Outside Functions Attended 26th July: Dr Radhike Khanna was invited
to be the Chief Guest for the Annual Day of

Aug: Dr Khanna gave an inspiring
speech to staff and students of Symbiosis
Institute of Operations Management,
Nasik to celebrate Spandaan Day,
dedicated to the Birth Anniversary of
Mother Teresa.
Special Assembly 19
th July: The Guru Purnima Special Assembly was performed by the WWS class. They started the assembly by
performing the Guru Vandana as a dance. This was followed by a short skit on “Ekalavya” and concluded with them
singing Guru Om dedicated to all the teachers in the school, as they expressed their gratitude. The Chief Guests for the
occasion were Mr & Mrs Gul Bhatija

August: The August Kranti Day Special Assembly was performed by Grade IV. THE Chief Guest for the event was Ms
Ashima Kaul. The narration of the history of August Kranti Day was done students accompanied by a presentation on the
smartboard. Appropriate songs were also played. The students performed the Dandi March for Salt Satyagraha and the
Swadeshi Movement by burning foreign goods in a bonfire. Another performance was of the freedom fighters being put
into jail and in their absence a young patriotic woman, Aruna Asaf Ali, hoisted the flag

th July: 3 members from the CSR team of SBI Life visited the school to learn more about the implementation of our
teaching methods
Other Happenings & Events 7
th July: Reopening of Sadhana Café! Going forward our Café will now be open once a week serving cookies and coffee, a
snack and drinks all made by our talented students who prepare the food items and also do the counter service

July: Grade III students attended a colleague’s birthday party at his residence after school
18th
July: on the occasion of Guru Purnima the students from the OPC class
had a tree planting ceremony with students from Yusuf Meherali School in
Tardeo

Aug: Classes from Formative years visited Mani Bhavan on account of August
Kranti Day

& 23rd
Aug: As a part of their outdoor curriculum and with the objective of
teaching through experiential learning, the lesson on important places in Mumbai was
conducted by taking the Grade III children on short outdoor trips to Hanging Gardens,
Marine Drive, Chowpatty Beach, Aquarium and gateway of India
