From the Calico - Peach (K), cut:• (9) 2 ½” x WOF strips for the binding.• (5) 1 ½” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut (2) 1 ½” x 84 ½” strips.• (4) 1 ½” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut (2) 1 ½” x 62 ½” strips.

From the Main Floral - Saffron (Backing), cut:• (2) 104” x WOF strips for the backing. Sew the strips together and trim to make the 80” x 104” back.

Block Assembly Note: Pay attention to the unit orientations when assembling the quilt top.1. Sew (1) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric J strip to the left side (1) 8 ½” x WOF Fabric L strip lengthwise. Sew (1) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric L strip to the left side of the Fabric J strip lengthwise to make (1) LJL strip set (Fig. 1). Repeat to make (3) LJL strip sets total.

2. Cut the (3) LJL strip sets into (34) 2 ½” x 12 ½” Unit 1 strips (Fig. 2).

3. Sew (1) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric J strip to each side of (1) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric L strip lengthwise. Sew (1) 6 ½” x WOF Fabric L strip to the right side of the sewn strip lengthwise to make (1) JL strip set (Fig. 3). Repeat to make (3) JL strip sets total.

4. Cut the (3) JL strip sets into (34) 2 ½” x 12 ½” Unit 2 strips (Fig. 4).

5. Sew (2) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric L strips and (2) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric J strips together lengthwise and alternating them. Sew (1) 4 ½” x WOF Fabric L strip to the right side of the sewn strip to make (1) LL strip set (Fig. 5). Repeat to make (3) LL strip sets total.

6. Cut the (3) LL strip sets into (34) 2 ½” x 12 ½” Unit 3 strips (Fig. 6).

7. Sew together (1) Unit 1 strip, (1) Unit 2 strip, (1) Unit 3 strip, (1) Unit 3 strip (turned 180 degrees), (1) Unit 2 strip (turned 180 degrees) and (1) Unit 1 strip (turned 180 degrees) in that order and lengthwise to make (1) Block One square (Fig. 7). Repeat to make (17) Block One squares total.

8. Place (1) 2 ½” Fabric L square on the top left corner of (1) 4 ½” Fabric D square, right sides together (Fig. 8). Sew across the diagonal of the smaller square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner (Fig. 8). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle ¼” away from the sewn seam. Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 9).

9. Follow Figure 10 for the seam direction to add a 2 ½” Fabric L square to each of the remaining corners of the 4 ½” Fabric D square to make (1) Unit 4 square (Fig. 11).

10. Repeat Steps 8-9 to make (6) Unit 4 squares total.

11. Repeat Steps 8-9 and refer to Figures 12-13 for fabric identification, placement and seam direction to make (6) Unit 5 squares and (6) Unit 6 squares.

12. Place (1) Fabric E-Template 1 triangle on top of (1) Fabric L-Template 2 triangle, right sides together, aligning the left sides (Fig. 14). Sew the (2) triangles together along the left side. Press the smaller triangle open.

13. Place (1) Fabric E-Template 3 triangle on top of the Fabric L-Template 2 triangle, right sides together, aligning the right sides (Fig. 15). Sew the (2) triangles together along the right side. Press the smaller triangle open to make (1) unit. Trim the unit to measure 4 ½” square to make (1) Unit 4 square (Fig. 16).

14. Repeat Steps 12-13 to make (24) Unit 7 squares total.

15. Repeat Steps 12-13 and refer to Figures 17-18 to make (24) Unit 8 squares and (24) Unit 9 squares.

16. Place (1) 4 ⅞” Fabric L square on top of (1) 4 ⅞” Fabric F square, right sides together. Draw a line across the diagonal of the top square (Fig. 19). Sew ¼” away from each side of the drawn diagonal line (Fig. 19). Cut the (2) squares apart on the drawn diagonal line (Fig. 20) to make (2) half-square triangles. Trim the half-square triangles to measure 4 ½” square to make (2) Unit 10 squares (Fig. 21). Repeat to make (24) Unit 10 squares total.

18. Sew (1) Unit 11 square to each side of (1) Unit 8 square to make the top row. Repeat to make the bottom row. Sew (1) Unit 8 square to each side of (1) Unit 5 square to make the middle row. Sew the (3) rows together to make (1) Block Two square (Fig. 24). Repeat to make (6) Block Two squares total.

19. Sew (1) Unit 12 square to each side of (1) Unit 9 square to make the top row. Repeat to make the bottom row. Sew (1) Unit 9 square to each side of (1) Unit 6 square to make the middle row. Sew the (3) rows together to make (1) Block Three square (Fig. 25). Repeat to make (6) Block Three squares total.

17. Repeat Step 16 and refer to Figures 22-23 for fabric identification and placement to make (24) Unit 11 squares and (24) Unit 12 squares.

Sew (1) Unit 10 square to each side of (1) Unit 7 square to make the top row. Repeat to make the bottom row. Sew (1) Unit 7 square to each side of (1) Unit 4 square to make the middle row. Sew the (3) rows together to make (1) Block Four square (Fig. 26). Repeat to make (6) Block Four squares total.

22. Sew together (1) Block One square, (1) Block Four square, (1) Block One square, (1) Block Two square and (1) Block One square, in that order, to make Row Two.

23. Sew together (1) Block Four square, (1) Block One square, (1) Block Two square, (1) Block One square and (1) Block Three square, in that order, to make Row Three.

24. Sew (1) together Block One square, (1) Block Two square, (1) Block One square, (1) Block Three square and (1) Block One square,in that order, to make Row Four.

25. Sew together (1) Block Two square, (1) Block One square, (1) Block Three square, (1) Block One square and (1) Block Four square, in that order, to make Row Five. 26. Sew together (1) Block One square, (1) Block Three square, (1) Block One square, (1) Block Four square and (1) Block One square, in that order, to make Row Six.

27. Sew the (7) rows together in numerical order to make the Center Block.

28. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 84 ½” Fabric K strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 62 ½” strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.

29. Sew (1) 5 ½” x 86 ½” Fabric I strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 5 ½” x 72 ½” Fabric I strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block to make the quilt top.

30. Layer and quilt as desired.

31. Sew the (9) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric K strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press.

32. Bind as desired.
