Welcome

“It is an honour for us to be hosting Salon Privé 2015 - the UK’s premier

Supercar Show & Concours d’Elégance - in its tenth year and for the first time

here at Blenheim Palace. My wife, my son, the Marquis of Blandford and I are

personally looking forward to the event, being big motor enthusiasts! With

such an exquisite world leading display of classic and luxury vehicles, the

Palace and surrounding Gardens and Parkland will be the perfect backdrop

for this unique event.“

It gives us great pleasure to announce the inaugural ‘Speed & Style’

Competition at Salon Privé Blenheim Palace.

An exciting new feature of the event this year, the Competition will see 80

supercars, dating from 1975 to modern day, displayed in Blenheim Palace’s

spectacular Great Court on the 5th September, Salon Privé’s first ever public

day.

As the only competition of its kind in UK, the ‘Speed & Style’ Competition is a

unique opportunity to pitch supercar against supercar and enjoy the Parades

and Awards usually only associated with Concours d’Elégance events.

I look forward to seeing you and your car in September.

In celebrating our Tenth Anniversary, we are about to raise the bar even higher

with a move to a spectacular new venue widely regarded as ‘Britain’s Greatest

Palace’; Blenheim Palace.

Salon Privé will carry over all of the attributes that have made it such a

popular occasion with UK as well as international owners and collectors. It

retains its convivial atmosphere and exquisite hospitality that it has always

been so renowned for and it remains a place where old friends meet and new

friendships are forged.

With a new layout and more space to allow for larger and more frequent

parades, the Chubb Insurance Concours d’Elégance will come to life on the

South Lawn of Blenheim Palace on Thursday 3rd September.

The event will have its normal flair, charm and beauty on Boodles Ladies’ Day.

Then, on Saturday 5th September, the inaugural ‘Speed & Style’ Competition

roars into the Great Court of Blenheim Palace, a sight definitely worth seeing,

or better still, being a part of.

History

Blenheim Palace is a spectacular Stately Home situated in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, and was a gift from Queen Anne and a grateful nation to the 1st Duke of Marlborough following his famous

victory at the Battle of Blenheim in 1704. It remains the principal residence of the Duke of Marlborough and it is the only non-royal, non-episcopal, Stately Home in England to hold the title

of ‘Palace’. One of England’s largest houses, it was built between 1705 and 1722 and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. It was designed by the famous architect Sir John

Vanbrugh in the rare English Baroque style and is surrounded by over 2,000 acres of ‘Capability’ Brown landscaped Parkland and stunning Formal Gardens which represent a perfect example

of the English landscape garden movement and style.

Famed as the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, Blenheim Palace is one of the country’s finest and most spectacular Stately Homes and currently home to the 12th Duke and Duchess of

Marlborough.

Facilities

The South Lawn of Blenheim Palace provides the perfect setting for the newly configured Salon Privé. Allowing the event to be fully enclosed and private whilst the Palace and Formal Gardens

remain open to the general public, clearly demonstrates the flexibility of the venue. Visitor access to the event area is a short walk via the Snake gate which connects directly with the parking

area. A separate entrance is available for speedy and efficient set-up and dismantle.

Accessibility

Blenheim Palace is situated in the picturesque and historic town of Woodstock, 8 miles North West of Oxford on the A44 Evesham Road, approximately one hour’s drive from both London and

Birmingham. Stratford-upon-Avon is only 45 minutes away and locations such as Manchester and Leeds now become easily accessible. Approaching Oxford on the M40, exit at junction 9 and

follow signs to Blenheim Palace. From other directions take the A44 exit from the Oxford by-pass. There is unlimited free car parking at the venue. The nearest main line train station is Oxford

which is approximately 20 minutes away and shuttles will be available to take exhibitors and guests to and from the event. For those attending from further afield, there is the option of arriving

by helicopter or indeed private jet with Oxford Airport and the smaller private airport 5 minutes away, making the event more accessible for both UK and overseas guests than ever before.

Local Amenities

Salon Privé is set to become a destination event; an event to which people drive and should they wish, stay overnight in 1 of the 40 plus local hotels. Historic Woodstock, with its beautiful

boutique shops, restaurants and hotels, sits alongside Blenheim Palace and is just a short walk from the event.
