The AAC club, founded within the speech-Language

department, provides:

•AAC users with a forum for discussion as well as the

The Grid 2

The Grid 2 allows people with limited or unclear speech to use a computer as a voice output communication aid, using symbols or text to build sentences.

You can:

�Send and receive email

�SMS

�Browse the web

�Listen to music and more

It can be used with eye gaze systems, switches, headpointer, touchscreen, mouse and other options.

“The easiest way is to use a Sound Recorder in Windows, and then edit cells with Play Media File command to make them play.

To build whole sentences, you need to create cells that say words. When you edit the cell, you will see that the text command has an options button.

Clicking this will take you to a window where you can create a sound file to substitute for the words in the cell.

You can then build and speak a sentence as you would with synthetic speech.”
