Included in this course are strategies for intervention and educational placement.

Course ObjectivesAt the end of the semester the students are expected to:

1. Define special education, exceptional children and related terms in special education.2. Compare and contrast the categories of children with special needs.3. Identify etiology of disabilities.4. Describe the characteristics of the different categories in special education.5. Determine the educational needs and its concomitant strategies.6. Prepare lesson plans and activities for the differently abled students.7. Design materials for the education of children with special needs.
